PSA is rising and Xtandi doesn't seem to be doing it anymore, so Dr. Sartor has me going on Lynparza probably starting at my next appointment in two weeks. If anyone has any advice as to side effects, time to take it, etc or any other advice, I would appreciate it. I know I used y'all's advice when on chemo and it helped quite a bit. Thanks

Approved for Lynparza (Olaparib)
Why did he choose that particular therapy?
I've done about everything else at this point ... here is what I have on my "about me".
Diagnosed 4/12; PSA 177; G9 (5+4); some bone mets
Eligard + Casodex 4/12; Radiation 8/9/12 - 10/5/12
HT on and off since 2012
BRCA2 Gene; Provenge May-June 2018; PSA 2.0 6/21/18
Zytiga 8/18 - 3/19 PSA 2.24 3/19
4/19 started Bipolar androgen therapy (BAT) PSA 2.63
BAT failed 5/15/19 PSA 12.2; Active mets on C5 spine plus other places.
Started Docetaxel Carboplatin combo 5/22/19. PSA down to .8 Aug 2019; Chemo stopped after 4 infusions due to bad reactions and terrible skin rash. 9/19 - CT scan shows new met in lungs. Starting Xtandi 10/19 - did not qualify for the Vision Trial. PARP inhibitor next if Xtandi doesn't do it.
I love that you have a doctor that keeps trying and that you do too! Light& love
Hey Alvin. I’m sending positive vibes. I’m still doing well on Zytiga and Lupron but I’ll be following you. I see Sartor too and he’s great. I also had a skin rash with carbo and taxotere combo. We thought it might have been the steroids but maybe it was the chemo combo. ✌️ dougnola
I would suggest searching this forum for "Olaparib" and you will get some answers.
My husband was just taken off the olaparib trial at mda.

Where is dr sartor
Good luck
I took Lynparza while under the care of Dr. Snuffy Myers. Guardant360 liquid biopsy revealed ATM defect which qualified me for Lynparza.
It worked for me for about 9 months before cancer found a workaround. Do not recall any significant SEs.
It is very expensive so make sure your insurance company will cover it.
Best Wishes. Never Give In.
