Oh man thank you girl. I forgot about that one. I never knew the title. That's pure euphoria, makes me want to put away the guitar and try to be a singer lol.
Mahalo nui loa Brother Timmer and y'all know about scanxiety😜. Kaiser drops the PSA results in the wee hours the day after the labs, So like 3am, grabbed phone logged on and held my breath and looked - Woo Hoo💙
Mahalo niu loa Sista and Yes it was a huge surprise that it dropped that far😃. I've said to patients that I thought it was like a house fumigation, kills for a few months then they come back.
Mahalo nui loa Brother, such a Lovely drop 😁, With the monthly PSAs at 1.3, 1.3, 1.2, I assumed that it was gonna plateau and Woo Hoo an over 50% drop.
Wow great news continues. I think that long term effect of RT after the last appt. is in play big time. Its like the icing on the cake after all that chemo. Sure we never know for sure but man I just think you're gonna have very long term benefit from this. QOL, rock, and live on brother Randy.
Considering your compassion and all you do for us brothers your shirt should say:
Wow and Yea Babeee for your top ten% response, Congrats to you. Yea, weird to ponder that the RTs were over a year ago and I knew that SEs could pop up even years later, but didn't realize that the PCa would still be succumbing.
Imma keep goin Big to keep the PCa at bay and to keep on QoLing, singing, and Spreading Aloha
Think it was Kaliber who opined that cuz I was in healthcare field that the sympathy/empathy was already in me and so it was easy to apply to the PCa stricken. I believe raising five kiddos also contributed.
Hope no one minds my reviving your thread. I've been busy the last couple days though. (I've been tackling the paint finish on the hood of my car with Tom67 on my mind and had a great day driving today to a couple or three auto parts stores, finally stopped by the only live bait place I could find on the internet since I moved here 3 years ago and it is a great place and had fun conversation with the character owner and same thing with a guy at one of the parts stores. Even before my diagnosis my wife would sometimes say "do you have to be such an open book, leave some of you and I as a mystery will ya" lol.
Yea you know when guys who are diagnosed and unlike you with first treatment being RT they ask here often about PSA not coming down much 3 months or so after RT. Brother Allen always let them know the effect of the RT can continue to work for a year or so. So I think you'll still be killin all those devils no matter where they are hiding. Its like the treatment that keeps on giving or something lol.
I was touting how great to have lived thru the "only had a.m. radio" days cause of all the diverse music played and I guess thanks to having our son I had MTV days also. He was 11 when DeLight groove is in the heart came out. I dug that song then and still do.
Oh man I use to stay up late Saturday nights for the Dr Demento… he came on around midnight. I would listen at the lowest volume And still my mom knew I was up.
My mom would say “who’s up”
I would say me,
she would say “ me go to bed “. That would be the end of Dr D for that night.
The amount of AM radio station signal output was determined by licensing I think. Anyway at midnight some stations who had the power but not the license were allowed to push out more of the wattage signal at midnight until I don't know maybe 5 a.m. in the morning.
I spent most of my childhood in Iowa. A station in Little Rock Arkansas of all places boosted their signal at midnight (50,000 watts?) and I would be able to tune in. Their station was kind of like listening to Don Kirshner's 70's concert TV show.
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah, yea crazy numbers 39 chemos, 28 IMRTs, dozens of Luprons, Abi, and Xtandi. May be the marathons beat body up to withstand it all🤔photos.app.goo.gl/VpJQ2g54T...
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah GP, what a long strange trip it's been. I'm ready for another ten years, lol, gotta make the 1st ten Cancerversary in October 🤣youtu.be/x4GZJIZRaAk?si=217...
Well I have eclectic tastes in both music and literature I even have some albums most people would say is out there ( The Vienna Choir Boys sing Neil Sedaka and The Brady Bunch Kids). 😜let me send you off on some more of my weird music …
On the serious side tho .. work does seem to energize you and give you a way to not think about “ things “ as much. Plus tharze always the humanity / medical side of things to bolster your feelings. Look at all the fun you have with your patients and staff. Spontaneous parties that break out ….. wooooohooooo. Just say’in
Yea, I guess I shouldn't call it work but play😁 and it does distract from the nastiness of the SEs plus I wanna replenish $ cuz who knows how long I may be upright 🙏
Cute as a button. A patient I assume due to age. Being upright IS a big thing, as you say. If you end up primarily in a chair like me, for an active , springs in the legs , guy such as yourself …… well …..Not your first choice but could still get worse. Probably an easier adjustment for a regular guy like me than such an athlete as yourself. You are still rolling hard on the up side of lucky …..count your lucky stars buddy. You are one person that seems to appreciate your circumstances and takes full advantage of it. Good example of leading by action my friend. No better example on this group that I’m aware of.
You and I have said this before we are alike except for your mobiblity and pain. Pain in almost all joints if I remember. I wish you could be more like me. Well, or not lol. You've been milkin Xtandi for a long time now while I've been usin up treatments lol.
No, anyway I'm no spring chicken and a far, far cry from Doc but indeed always thankful I can get around as well as I do. I sure wish it were for you too. Somehow you handle it and help to help others facing what you do adapt to it by sharing your . You said once I think that your VA work experience has helped you deal with it but still man.
What you said about Randy my sentiments too. He covers all the bases.
Yeah , I’ve been lucky with you know what “ ( not say’in it out loud and jinx it lol ) for this long … but hasn’t come easy. I was sitting there after Svengoolie last night thinking / wondering how a persons’ world could land in a spot like this. What a mess buddy. Rotflol it’s 100% saturation mess including the hammer. She’s endured a lot too, it’s easy to see how it all got so screwed up. But here it is, ntl.
It’s hitting 115f today / lately here, prolly about time to head out to the coast. Just adds to the whole. Ima not traveling very well these days either.
All of us , you me and Randy , have faced gut checks lately. Even springs in the legs Randy faces the same doubts and worry we have.. we’re, all, “ scuffling to get a leg up “ as the saying goes. We’re, all, lucky in most respects tho …….. You hear how things could have been … here on the group …. From other guys that don’t last very long …. Hard to look around and think “ lucky “ tho …. Isn’t it.
Love you my brother, you’ll be here LONG after I’m toast …. lol
You two are going thru a ton of Treatments/SEs and both of you are just Gangstas for being pretty upbeat and irreverent 💙 and also posting your experiences for other HU people to see.
Ryte on my brother …. Been having a kinda carpal tunnel like thing going on ( best way I can describe it ) and it’s roaming around my body. lol. Been staying away from typing because it aggravates the problem a lot.
My brother, I have ZERO doubt that if you landed in a wheelchair…..you’d probably be competing in wheelchair “ runs “ lol. That and everywhere you went you’d have fun.
Good morning and Yikes about a body wide carpal tunnel 😢.
So sorry to hear that :-(, any meds for it? Gabapentin? Neurotin? Is it a Med SE?
LoL about my goin Gansta in a wheelchair, if that happened, my scrawny lil arms would need a lot of prep😜 But, of course, an etrike would be waaay better 😃
The roving muscle discomfort is lightening up much more , I’m sure it prolly another minor SE , the longer we do things to ourselves, our bodies will make us pay lol. I’m sure you know all about that , no doubt a resident expert as much as you ask out of your bod from time to time. Plus you get those new treatments and I’m sure those come with their own specialness lol.
It seems like there has been some amount of upbeat posts mixed in lately , your getting good results and MouseAdams husband etc. those are good mood elevators for all of us when scraping the bottoms sometimes. 😂😂😂
The e or ours heat is making it more difficult to get out and do QOL things, but mornings are still pretty good.
Yea those pesky SEs, now I'm even scrawnier and my raisinettes are now grape nuts😜 Also have water balloon calves when I'm upright for a while, but I'm still standin🙏
More dyspnea, esp whilst hikin in Big Bear at 6725ft, glad the Make a Wish didn't occur this year up there.
lol …. Grape nuts !!! 😂😂😂😂 it doesn’t seem to slow you down much . Dunno what’s with that water ballon stuff tho buddy. That worries me about what it could be.
Wow, with a little skinny low bmg , hard muscled, athletic guy like you, whare does all that durn water come from anyway. It seems bizarre somehow. I could see it in a huge flabby water bag like me , but not you. lol
Rotflol …… more like mini-din . 😁. I like the way you seem more upbeat as of late, no doubt in great part to the successful results of your latest treatment and those purdy low bug scores. It’s doesn’t get better ( with the current state of art treatments) for guys on this group….. than that buddy. Hopefully a lil bit of good karma payback for all those good deeds and nice guy activities. Love you back lil buddy. 🌺🌼🌹
I'm in Love... with Life and it's been S'marvelous even that 4 letter word WORK.
Have a great story:
Had the granddaughter of my hygienist in for a 2nd opinion - prev dds dx'd deep cleanings on a 16 yr old!!!😱
Did an xray, a quick exam and was totally BS Dx. I noticed that she was a "cutter" with dozens of scars on her forearms. I patted them and said "I know that you're hurting, but you don't need to keep hurting yourself" She nodded and when she stood up, I asked if I could hug her and she let me 💙 At fill appt, I numbed and we chatted about books, school, movies and fill went well and she left. Later hygienist came up and said that she was listening to us chat and was surprised as that's the most that she heard her talk since she came to visit.
Congrats on kicking PC's ass dockam. Saw your Bio. very impressive. I see fasting is used. And you do a remarkable amount of cardio. Do you or have used Neulasta to keep White blood cell count up, do you use a port during chemo infusions? Do you use Ice cap etc.? Side effects from chemo? For you to withstand & succeed so much chemo is astounding. Continued success....Oh, also any particular diet? Thanks
Nope, no Neulasta WBC count was okay. RBCs and HGb a bit low but not crazy. I did maybe 30 marathons post diagnosis and I think that enhanced longevity
No port, just got jabbed over like 100x with blood work, chemo, scans😜
No ice cap, I did exercises during the chemo - leg lifts, squats, scissor kicks, jumping jacks. Would walk that night too. Never had neuropathy
Dietwise: whole grains, lean proteins, a rainbow of colored fruit/veggies. Did 16 hr fasting daily, sipped on homemade tomato, garlic, curry, cabbage broth til 1pm, then Broke Fast
Thank you for responding dockam. Remarkable, that you have such great success on Chemo with basically no side effects, while doing marathons, that's inspiring, continued success to you dockam
You're welcome and I'm an outlier, as far as the number of chemos and my body's ability to handle them🤔Still needed the 28IMRTs to hopefully get a durable remission.
