Patient had “terminal” mCRPC -- all treatments failed -- surgery, radiation, ADT, Zytiga, LU-177 – given less that 2 years to live -- last ditch treatment resulted in– no sign of cancer 4 months later.
"A Proposed Efficacious Treatment with Clioquinol (Zinc Ionophore) and Cabergoline (Prolactin Dopamine Agonist) for the Treatment of Terminal Androgen-independent Prostate Cancer. Why and How?"
There are 2 other known patients that were reported to have unexplained striking results with the common denominator of Cabergoline (they were taking it to prevent breast enlargement -- likely unaware of its cancer killing effect).
Is cutting off prolactin the magic bullet?

Promising, but sounds too simplistic to be true. I know Costello (a co-author) has been beating the drums on this topic for quite some time now. Not saying it's false, I'm curious why he didn't start a trial - or at least get more patients. I can imagine mCRPC patients (weather end-stage or not) would be happy to give it a shot.
I thought it was pretty exciting -- Cabergoline should accompany every ADT 3 treatment -- if you ask me. I'm going to take it with Avadart to cut off prolactin -- it can only help. According to their research it will prevent CRPC.
Just having a "normal" prolactin level is not enough -- most PCa men probably have that and the PCa cells use it as the alternate fuel source and become CRPC -- I would think you would want to take the CAB and get the prolactin as low as possible and starve the cancer cells of both testosterone and prolactin at the same time.
Worth getting a level first....other hormones have all been low....I am trying to get dutasteride now.... I hear, "Not SOC"....tiresome....still trying to get CPAP for mild sleep apnea....the wheels of modern medicine turn slow, brother..... at least I can get labs through Life Extension....don't have to beg....
Try Ultalabtests.com, in my experience less expensive than Life Extension. No financial interest, just a satisfied customer. A PSA is $12.95. There is an $8 blood draw fee whether you order 1 test or many.
Thank you, brother...That's the regular PSA--sensitive down to what number?? I will look....I got a battery of tests--male panel at LE which included CBC, CMP, vitamin D, HgbA1C, TSH, Estradiol, Testosterone, PSA, DHEA-S for $199 when on sale... It's what we do to get answers....
If you go there, always check the "Weekly specials" first. There is a list of 30 common tests, including CBC, for $12.95. They also offer panels, you might find one that's a reasonable match to what you need.
Right now they are offering 20% off all tests, use the code summer20% at checkout.
Thanks for posting this. I will ask my doctor about adding Cabergoline to my ADT. Can it hurt? Side effects? My micro-PSA is climbing slowly but surely after the RP, chemo, and two rounds of EBRT. Time to add something else or wait until the PSA exceeds 1 again, or even 2?
I'm on ADT and my MD will check my serum prolactine levels because I want to avoid ginaecomastia.
Do you have some links to data about those 2 patients.
Thanks

Things move so slowly. I asked my MO about CAB. The office was going to contact the authors, ask if they are doing trials (they are not if my research is correct). Waiting on a response. I also need to know if taking CAB will disqualify me from participating in an upcoming clinical trial. I note that since CAB has been around for many years the drug companies may not be willing to spend hundreds of millions of $ on trials for a drug that exists. It is expensive but not like abiraterone.
