I have been on Eligard for almost 2 years since my metastatic PCa was diagnosed in June 2016, Gleason 9 which spread to my hips, a rib and T10 & T11 vertebrae. After radiation and chemotherapy I had extreme diarrhoea and have been diagnosed with ibs. I lost weight but recently with everything settling down I seem to have gained 7 kilos. I have just completed rehab program with an hour in the pool followed by an hour in the gym three days a week and continue with my own gym program at home. I am not eating any more or differently but the gain has been gradual over the last few months. I know ADT does lead to weight gain. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am pleased that my psa is 0.01 and scans show that only mets on my T11 vertebrae of a reduced size can be seen. I can’t walk too far because of a problem hip which I will have replaced soon. But I am still active and do my gym work quite well. But weight gain is a concern!!

Weight gain on ADT
Yes me too i gained weight steadily over the years. I put myself on a diet of oatmeal with bluberries and banana in the morning and salad with grilled chicken in it for protien and filler. I ate as much of that as i wanted. Boring yes but i lost 24 lbs in 2 months.
You need to alter you diet.
Try skipping your mid day meal.
And reduce the size of your remaining meals.
Your goal should be to maintain yourself in a constant state of hunger.
Good Saturday Morning Brightman,
Something called "metabolic syndrome" is at work when you suppress testosterone and weight gain can become a problem.
Dr. Snuffy Myers used the Mediterranean diet and metformin with his patients to control this unfortunate side effect. It has worked for me.
Best wishes. Never Give In.

Hello Brightman, I struggle with weight gain and accumulation of fat around the midsection. I cut intake when my weight starts to rise and sometimes skip lunch, except for some nuts and fruit. Our only option, to the best of my knowledge, is cutting carbs and doing intense - fast and slow - types of exercise. Good luck, Phil
