From a case study of 1 (me), and asking Dr. G00gle

Based on current research, no, green tea is generally considered to be less likely to cause weight gain than coffee, as green tea contains antioxidants called catechins which may have a slightly more pronounced effect on boosting metabolism and fat burning compared to coffee, although both beverages are low in calories when consumed plain and can be part of a healthy weight management plan when consumed in moderation.

I was lately drinking green tea in the AM and coffee in the PM. My weight started to drift up. Went back to green tea only and it seems to be settling back.

Cheers and enjoy your cuppas

I forgot to mention I never add anything to my coffee or tea.

I was going to say the coffee itself might not put weight on but what you put in it will, milk & sugar. I have my two black cups in morning with Nubeqa tablets & green tea at night.

Let's not forget that green tea is one of those recommended supplements-not-supplements that extensively helps against metastatic prostate cancer. I'm two coffees in the morning, black, and usually a cup of green tea too latest by early afternoon.

There are a lot of things that I have given up because of this F##ing disease but I will fight to the death before I give up my donut with coffee! 🍩

@j-o-h-n Maybe a post about "Donuts and Weight Gain on ADT" would be in order

First I'll test the water by asking A I.

Will I gain weight from eating donuts or from eating donut holes?

ChatGPT said:

You'll gain weight from both if you consume more calories than your body burns. But if you're comparing equal weights, the calorie difference is usually minimal since donut holes are just small pieces of a full donut.

However, you might eat more total calories with donut holes because they’re small and easy to pop in your mouth without realizing how many you’ve eaten. A standard donut might be around 250–400 calories, while each donut hole is 50–90 calories—so eating 5 or more could surpass a full donut’s calories.

In short: If portion control is an issue, donut holes might be sneakier, but both can contribute to weight gain if eaten in excess! 🍩

"AS YOU GO THROUGH LIFE, LET THIS BE YOUR GOAL,

KEEP YOU EYES ON THE DONUT AND NOT ON THE HOLE.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Watch the movie "Donut King" best, and most consistent donuts throughout LA.

That is the reason Dunkin' took forever to establish in the west coast. Also killed Winchells donuts.

They all learned from Winchells Donuts, but you would never know, Winchells are nasty.

to SinS,

I'll definitely bite and I hope the movie isn't more than I can Gu. I'm interested in seeing the movie since Richard Whittaker with The Austin Chronicle said that "Asian Americans face increasing racism" and I happen to be Asian. I'm, "caucASIAN".

Donuts are one of my favorite desserts out of the thousand goodies on my list.

I never heard of Winchells donuts but I guess they were named after that famous father of Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff. (Man I'm scraping the bottom of the mixer now).

Well thank you for the tip on the donut movie and I hope all of yours are baker's dozens.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

It's a documentary. Its a learning experience. Especially in LA, when everyone asks why are donuts in a pink box!!

FWIW - I've recently heard at a men's PC support group that caffeine, along with alcohol and carbonated beverages can possibly contribute to incontinence (which I have, and I never had prior to radiation treatments and ADT/Hormone Therapy). So I'm trying to cut over to decaf coffee, but it's not easy....2 cups in AM like others....Your mileage may vary, lol

I don’t like tea. I drink coffee with cream and a half spoon of sugar. Enjoy your tea. And your..donut. Donuts! I don’t eat donut, because I’m incapable of eating donut, singular.

sadly,to me, green tea is an unpleasant flavor….as are many items purported to be good for you……back to theQOL issue.

As one whose first inclination is to solve an issue, if you don't like green tea neat, why not get a flavored green tea? walmart.com/search?q=flavor...

There aren't enough ingredients in the world to hide the taste of any tea. Me against the world here, I think. Just nasty stuff. Love coffee though.

Hmm…coffee is the nastiest taste in my book, mouth!!

Bad associations w those nasty coffee bags I used when making coffees for my mum and dad as a kid. Never drank one cup. Nit planning on it now. Though I might be willing if there are health benefits.

Btw caffeine is the #1 abused drug in the world.

green tea is known to suppress glutamine as well. Glutamine is cancers 2nd food source. Also caffeine is terrible for BPH. I cut it out for two months. All my symptoms went away from my BPH, which led me to just focus on the cancer.

started drinking coffee ago, and now some of the bph symptoms returned. So back to green tea only.
