One thing that many PCa endurers see occurring despite their best efforts is weight gain while on ADT. Does the community have any info on whether taurine can help, in conjunction with lots of exercise? I found a couple articles that it might.

Taurine and ADT weight gain
Gives you Wings!!!
Its the active ingredient in Red Bull.
Taurine dilates the arteries and increase nitric Oxide, which increases blood flow and oxygen. What causes the hyper energy feeling from Red Bull is mostly from caffeine, which blocks adenosine receptors.
Taurine is a kick ass stimulant, but other than that it can’t do much. Caloric restriction along with with your exercise will do the job but admittedly it takes a certain discipline one may not be used to.
On ADT you need to consume significantly less food just to break even. While getting older. Good times!
But of course it can be done.
If it only it was that simple. ADT causes sarcopenia so if you consume less food alone how do you build muscle while losing fat? If you exercise 3 hours a day like I do between walking, resistance training, and aerobics, that complicates one's food/supplement regime further. My weight has been stable (stuck) for months with a bigger gut than I would like and I have concluded that some dietary/supplement tweaking is in order.
Terminal -- Red Bull sure does have taurine along with a ton of caffeine and sugar. Hard pass.
It is absolutely that simple. ADT only causes sarcopenia if your interventions are lacking. Simple, but not easy I know.
What are you doing for3 hours a day? Increase the weight training intensity and do zone 5 interval training. Eat well, including only complex carbohydrates and very little of that. Get your nutrients but otherwise maintain a caloric deficit. Get enough protein. If you’re exercising 3 hours daily and you still have a gut, one or more of these things is missing.
There is sugar free (artificially sweetened) Red Bull of course. But I agree the stuff is crap either way.
To assist with improving your diet it helps to discuss it with a dietitian, especially an oncology dietitian. They can review what you eat and how to adjust. It is important to get the right level of nutrition while watching calories. Just cutting food can lead to deficiencies in nutrients.
So about 6 years ago, thanks to Lupron and friends, I lost 20 lbs. It assisted in managing PCa but in spite of a healthy mediterranian diet, I can't gain any weight. Went down to 140-150 from a lifelong 160's, I have been taking 1, 700 gms of taurine oer day as per recommendation of Patric. Can't take shirt off in that I scare grandkids.
Taurine is a very important and useful amino acid. Things like Red Bull distort the importance of Taurine. I take 1 gram as soon as I wake up, and 1 gram before I go to sleep. No PVCs in the past two years now. It's also great for anti-aging.
Here is one study result showing the very significant role that Taurine plays. "Taurine deficiency as a driver of aging" It has charts in the article as well:

This is another study result that helped me stop my heart PVC palpitations after damage from Levofloxacin in 2020 and Pfizer MRNA jabs in 2021 - "Elimination of cardiac arrhythmias using oral taurine with l-arginine with case histories: Hypothesis for nitric oxide stabilization of the sinus node"
Ok, but will it help my redbull in stuping any pinkcows?
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Monkeys gained less weight than controls on taurine, but that´s a very minor part of what taurine supplementation may achieve if it lives up to its hype.
"Taurine deficiency as a driver of aging" science.org/doi/10.1126/sci... If you want I can email you the entire article. Most is on mice, but there is one intriuging trial on rhesus monkeys showing a number of health effects.
I take 3 g a day, for longevity purposes.
Taurine in Red Bull certainly is working for Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen. Kicking a** this season!
