An accidental walk

I had today all planned out, I went to Lowest this morning, which was closer than I thought and was easy to get to.

Then my daughter came round in her lunch hour and as she was about to leave we were in the middle of a conversation so it was either her be late back to work or walk with her so I walked with her, then as she crossed the road I carried along the main road to loop round to home.

There's a hedge with a pathway the other side of it along the main road so I walked along there until I had to turn off, it was gloomy but really quieter than alongside the road.

Of course I dived down an alleyway and got a bit lost but eventually arrived home with a walk of 2.5kilometres, nice and warm and feeling very accomplished. at one point I realised I was walking so fast I had stitch 🤣🤣🤣 so I slowed right down .

Another day ticked off and probably an M for main road. I love the alleyways and tunnels round here.

Keep walking friends

🍏 Fun when a walk happens spontaneously. Sounded really lovely. Oh I do find this little lane quite inviting…I am inquisitive by nature 😊 The little deep pink Fuschias peeping over also makes it an attractive option .. Thanks for a super pic. X

It saved me having to decide where and when to go 😁 and I did seem to be on the go all day yesterday 😁

Another lovely photo of an inviting path.. I love exploring new places.. especially with the security of Strava to track the route back on the map if I happen to get lost!

Yes, and maps to find the way home 🤣 it's weird, I lived in the same area for 40 years so knew where everything was, now I'm using maps and sat nav and feeling clever if I can get home without them, yesterday I needed a post office, sat nav got me there but I found my way home without and was very pleased

No idea how we used to manage without GPS and mobile phones! I remember setting off alone from here in my Mini when I was 19 to visit a friend in Paris. I had no worries about how I would find her address.. but I got there.. just can’t imagine doing that now 🤣🤣

That was clever, I got lost in France once and was really scared because all the signs were in French which I couldn't understand 😳😂

I got lost a few times and there were a few anxious moments.. , but I sometimes think I was a different person then.. I get nervous driving alone to York now and that’s only an hour from home..🤣

My daughters both live in York. I’m on jury service there next week.. dreading it! That’s why the journey is on my mind..

It would be great to meet up if you are ever there.. let me know!

Will do but it won't be for a while, we were supposed to meet up this summer but I got sick

Fingers crossed for you that the treatment you’re having will help you to recover soon 🤞

I've just heard from the hospital, apparently I'm very anaemic which explains lack of energy and breathlessness so will have iron infusions to correct that and then hopefully be able to run again 😁

Good that it will be corrected, although I suppose it will mean yet more hospital trips for a few weeks.. hopefully you’ll feel better before Christmas 🤞x

I'm hoping so 😁 and the hospital is a 10 minute walk away so not a problem popping in x
