The Diabetes step challenge - Week 1 of 13

Hi eveyone,

In my first post "A work in progress" I talked about discovering the 1,000,000 step challenge that is set between 1st of July to September 30th ... So 92 days to complete the challenge.

I am now one week in and this is my progress so far:

Steps = 141,931

Distance walked = 121 Km

Hours walked = 22:49 (includes my incidental steps)

Brisk walking = 1010 mins (16h50)

Calories 8,754 kcal

I am not trying to raise money as some people are in adopting the challenge. I am doing this for my health and wellbeing... though with the occasional achy legs of a morning I am not convinced I am reaping wild health benefits as yet. I guess I will have to take it step by step (sorry a bad dad joke I hear my kids say). I hope I can achieve my initial short term goal by the end of the year and then build on the progress the second half of the year will have rewarded me for my efforts.

I hope all of you are enjoying your own challenges and having fun with it.

Alan

Well done and keep up the good work. It might not feel like it just now, but you will reap rewards from this undertaking and by the time you through, hopefully you will have set in place a habit that lasts for the rest of your life.
