Just checking in with everyone on the #Walk1000Miles challenge.
Some of you may have already finished! Some of you are coming really close! And some of you might just have to extend the duration into the next year!
All is ok in my book. As someone suggested, the medal at the end is not awarded for crossing the line at the finale, but for the achievement all along the way!
As many of you know, my challenge was rather a #Walk/Row/Run1000Miles, as walking for that length was not realistic (yet).
But my apps tell me that taking all my distance based activities together, I doubled my distance this year compared to last year. To be fair, a big proportion was the increase in my indoor rowing distances, but I also increased my walking distance and slightly seemed to have decreased my running distance. (Decrease of running distances is probably due two 2 Covid stints, 1 Calf strain and the usual slow build-ups after each)
My walking still could be better, but I’m also chuffed on how this challenge has motivated me to walk more, and work out more. And I reached my 1000 Miles a week ago and received this beauty of a medal! (see pic)
So I think this is all good in my book.
So how is everyone else doing? How have you found this challenge, so far!?
And if you have already made it across the 1000 Mile finish line, then HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!
What an achievement. We’ll be announcing forum badges soon, and there will sure be a “Walked1000Mile” badge ready to be requested for all our walking champions!
Happy walking, everyone!
