Finally back outside!

So like a few others, yesterday was a walk day for me .I have not really felt well since late November (infact also on and off before that)

So yesterday (Saturday) was my first outdoor exercise for far too long .

It felt so good to get out and about again even for just a 3.5k walk .

What is very apparent is that my fitness level has dropped significantly, this was not really a surprise.

It felt fine while out, although my breathing was not as easy as I would have liked !

But after I got back home I felt absolutely drained and aching .

I did want to see if I could get out again today but guess what !

It's throwing it down 😐 ahh well.

So anyway, looks like it will be several walks for me on my next few outings before I feel I can run again.

And when that time comes I will determine how best to progress.

Sorry no nice picture from the walk , I forgot to take my phone with me 🀣

That's great news Ian that you got out a 3.5K walk on Saturday, your fitness level will come back very soon to the level it was last year, when it does you will be able to run again, in the meantime just slowly increase the distance you 🚢 walk πŸ‘

I’m pleased you got out there Ian, a bit of fresh air does wonders doesn’t it 😊. I’m sure your next foray will feel easier too. The weather HAS NOT been on our side has it, I just got drenched going out. Tomorrow looks to be nice where I am but of course I’m back at work after a couple of weeks off. Typical! 😁

Thanks Kate !It was throwing it down here this morning,😐

And yes, time off here unfortunately coincided with bad weather 😐

Hellooo! So well done! It’s hard coming back from a period of illness or injury. But your post expresses that willpower so well.

Sending you some patience and healing. And as you know so very well: slow and steady does it.

So glad to see you got outside and had a good walk. How have your sinuses been since having antibiotics?

I tried a walk earlier this week and I really enjoyed just being outdoors again. I’ve managed a 3k and a 4k run since so hoping to get back to park run next weekend for a really slow run. We’ll get there slowly but surely. πŸ™πŸ»

So glad you were able to get out. That feeling of freedom when you’ve been stuck in…brilliant.

Glad you are out and about again. The fresh air must have been wonderful after so long.Maybe just as well to give it another day or so if you felt so tired afterwards. You don't want to do too much too soon.Slowly, slowly catchy monkey as the saying goes

So glad to hear you're back out in the fresh air. I too am still struggling with post viral fatigue, congested sinuses (2 rounds of antibiotics seem to have made little difference πŸ™„).

I'm also due back at work tomorrow after a fortnight off with little achievement due to the almost constant rain β˜” πŸ˜•

I walk most days, rain or shine, because I have the dogs but admit to struggling with motivation as the weather is just so awful with little sign of respite on the horizon. Running has been much more erratic with as little as one a week on the treadmill and then not much as I seem to be stuck at week 6. Still I am grateful to be able to run at all and will just keep on keeping on hoping for more improvement, but grateful for what I can do πŸ™

Sending you loads of positive energy and hope for improvement for you too 😁 πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜

Gosh there are a lot of us in this club nobody wants to be in! I'm finally getting out again after weeks of illness, and a course of antibiotics seemed to make the difference for me, so hopefully you're over the worst now.
