So what do you do when you can't run, and can't walk ? ...... Get the bike out of course ! 😁

I didn't walk yesterday as my foot was still a little sore with the P/F 😐But the weather was good and I didn't want to loose another rehab exercise so decided to get the bike out 😁

Only 30 minutes but felt a little strange having not been on it for some time !

I just stayed local and cycled around some of my running routes but at least it gave me another workout .

The rehab is actually going well and I am feeling aerobically fitter than I have done for a while .

Still a few other little niggles but nothing worth worrying about (I hope 🀣)

Next week I think will be very much weather dependent so we will see πŸ™‚

Well done Ian on getting on your bike and going for a 30 minutes bike ride, I am sure you enjoyed it, my bike is all ready for me to get on it and go a cycle ride on the many country B roads near to where I live, I also 🚴 cycle on where I walk and run, I will start cycling come May, have a lovely Easter. 😊

Well done there Ian! I think that’s a fantastic idea, although, yes, I bet it felt a little bit strange. I haven’t gotten my bike out in a long time and just know I’d be very wobbly! It’s a fantastic day for getting the wheels out 🚴🏽 bet it felt good πŸ‘.

So nice to hear you’re feeling aerobically fitter 😊.

Thanks Kate !It was just nice to be out on a lovely morning, I was also a bit wobbly!

Definitely feel a difference in fitness though πŸ™πŸ˜

Nice one! ( I wonder what the equivalent of C25k is for biking πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ€¨πŸ˜‰πŸ˜€πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ)

Great idea ... just be careful where it leads! I hadn't cycled for best part of 20 years until I found myself in an orthopaedic boot! I know that wobbly feeling πŸ˜… I grew to love cycling while I couldn't run, and ended up doing 100km sportives 😍.Having said that, I did read mixed things about whether or not it might exacerbate PF (which I got a mild case of when I came out of the boot). I only referred to the ever confusing Dr Google, but you may want to double check for yourself to be sure.

Yes, it was a nice change πŸ™‚But these are only short rides of around 30 minutes.

I have already looked into PF and cycling and as you say , a lot of mixed info .

Most suggested it is unlikely to cause a problem with PF unless cycling for extended periods (whatever that means) πŸ™‚πŸ€”

I had five months to build up from short rides ... and then carried on!!!I have to say I ignored the PF warnings too and tried to keep my foot stretched out as much as possible when riding. Cycling is a good stand in for running, nowhere near as energetic but at least it gets the air rushing past your face and you get to explore further too πŸ˜€

It's certainly a good cardiac rehab exercise, gets the heart pumping .Within the suggested limits from the Borg scale of course πŸ™‚

Hello Mr. Instructer, I actually don’t have a bike but I do walk a dog twice a week. The dog isn’t mine but he gets a walk for around an hour in the local park. He is a small dog, but my goodness he can pull on the lead as he is a pug and in general the breed is quite strong but by the time the β€˜walk’ is over he is a bit tired.

Sounds ideal !Borrow the dog for your walks , 😁

Well not exactly borrowed as such. I belong to a group of people that help others in our community. Walking this particular dog has been going on since Covid in UK. I do enjoy this activity as the dog is quite a lovely personality.

Fantastic you’ve got the option to get on the bike as well as walking. It’s amazing how one niggle can recruit a load of friends. Hopefully your PF will settle down soon. Now the bike is out, do you think you’ll carry on with it? Round here is all hills and fast country lanes with high hedges so I’m too much of a wimp to get on mine!

The terrain is not much different here tbh.I need to go round and round the same roads again and again to avoid the hills !
