Workout1 I so identify with you! 8 months ago, when I joined this forum I could only manage to do 200 steps - I have a long standing back problem as well as arthritis in practically every joint. I am also very overweight. I started walking the bus route, so that I could always get back home! And believe me, I regularly had to catch that bus! I also walk with the help of a sholley (a cross between a shopping trolley and a walking aid (it's won awards) recommended to me by the chiropractor - apparently walking with a stick doesn't give you enough support.) But slowly and surely by October (about 4/5 months) I'd built up to 1000 steps. That's when I started watching my diet. Since then I've increased my step count to 3000 and I've lost 26 lbs. Slow and steady does it! Finding the patience is hard, but the rewards are there! I've had a massive amount of support and encouragement from the lovely members of this group - we'll all be here for you too, as you go on journey to better health and fitness.
