A bit fitter with a Fitbit

Been upping my activity levels to keep my weight loss on track - as I'm getting closer to my goal it's harder to lose the pesky pounds. I've been seriously overweight for most of my adult life and it's only now that I'm nearly back within a healthy range that I really WANT to keep more active.

I love walking but can only manage about an hour at a time because of various foot / knee / hip problems, but I'm determined to keep going.

I'm aiming for 15,000 steps a day for at least 5 out of 7 days per week. My Fitbit has been a godsend for keeping me focussed on a little exercise often throughout the day and it all adds up. I actually feel a bit stir-crazy if I don't get out each day... Fingers crossed the weather holds as dodging raindrops is not my favourite occupation!

It's amazing how technology can really help along the motivation isn't it?

I have a misfit shine and I love the motivation it gives me, even now as I'm recovering from my op those little increases in daily steps mean so much to me and prove my recovery.

Me too it's my best weight loss tool, I can keep a track of everything I link it to my fitness pal where I log my food but love the dashboard on the fit bit app it keeps me motivated πŸ˜€

Would not be without my Fitbit and MyFitnessPal. Away in Lancaster for a long weekend, the suns out and we went for a walk with bouncy the dog and three hours later returned having done 19000 steps and 38 floors - Williamson Memorial at the top of the hill. After a brief dog nap she wants to go out again! Not sure what's going to happen when we get home and struggling to get to 10,000 steps a day. Hopefully the weigh in on Wednesday will show weight off.

Sounds like you are doing great, i walk on my own and it can be really difficult to keep motivated to do that extra lap etc. I downloaded an app called The Walk, its been great. A bit like a box set where you can only unlock the story by walking! (no running required for this one)
