Hello everyone,
Next Tuesday I will be ducking out of the forums for a week or so. As some of you know I haven't been doing my beloved events for nearly a year now due to being ready and waiting in the sidelines to donate my left kidney to my husband. The time has come and we have a date set as MrRfc is ready for it now and in about a weeks time we will both go for the op. We have a lot more final tests coming up in the next few days so a busy time coming up.
I'm hoping I'm only away from here for a week from the 7th March. I've told myself I should not Post while high on morphine ๐. But as some have said it might actually be funny, I will resist. I hope to be back walking for fitness in a couple of weeks and the build up to running and then on to the strength and flex. I'm going to need all the programs to get back up and running again. Maybe a long while until I do my first marathon ๐, but never say never.
I'm leaving you in the very capable hands of Poppypug and Ju-Ju. I would like to thank them both for all their help and support leading up to this, it's been great to have them to lean on at times recently.
I'm always amazed at the different places our health journey takes us, I started C25K after losing my Mum and wanted good habits rather than going back to the bad old ones, that was 8 years ago in that time it exposed a thyroid problem I was able to get sorted and then four years ago In June I started the NHS C25K program, by the time I found this forum I was hooked. I got into my events and loved my new found energy. Little did I know that all this would be the catalyst to make me healthy enough to help my husband, after the op everything will be waiting for me to start again and I know I will be chomping at the bit to get back to it. All because I found a new hobby and this site all those years ago, MrRfc is determined to start C25K at some point and we will be getting back to our lovely long hikes as they have been on hold for a little while now.
So everyone, keep running, walking and strength and flexing and keep supporting each other while I'm away but most of all look after yourselves. This journey you are on will take you amazing places.
Take care
Rfc x.
