advice on bleeding stitches please ?

hello

I had 3 internal and 3 external stitches on my lower leg 3 days ago. Was advised to take dressing off after 2 days and wash with water and soap in the shower.

Since doing this last night my stitches are very itchy and sore. I took the dressing off this morning to see they had bled and had dry blood over them (they looked very clean before and after the shower) is this a concern?

They mainly hurt when I’m standing or sitting in certain positions but very itchy.

Thanks

Doesn’t sound unusual, stitches do itch and removing a dressing can start a bit of bleeding but it would be best to get it checked out, if you have a minor injury unit nearby pop in and get them to check it or call your GP surgery tomorrow.
