Contraceptive issue

I am on the mini pill and have had really heavy bleeding every other week. I previously came off it due to that but have been put back on it after having baby. How long should I try it for or should I try get another contraceptive since I knew this would happen anyways

I'm surprised they put you on it, if you reacted this way the first time. I'd definitely request something else, like the progesterone only pill.
