My GP says use 2 times a week but on menopause Matters and other sites they say it can be used daily because it is localised .
I think this should be addressed by. The manufacturers and be up dated with GPs

They are rationing HRT at the moment, that might be playing a part in your difficulties.
I think it’s daily for 2weeks then twice a week
I use mine every other day as my atrophy is bad, very dry, dr told me to do this.
Some women need to use Vagifem more than twice weekly and it is very safe to do so . Gps are making it very difficult to obtain Hrt they are still following old data and are not willing to follow Nice guidelines they are allowed to make their own decisions. Women are suffering needlessly and are being forced to go private to get the help they need to have a good quality of life.
Hi there ..I know when I was using vagifem..my gymie told me everyday for 1 week then 2 or 3 times a week..hope this helps..like you say its localised so not suppose to enter your blood stream..the best hrt I've used is everel conti patches absolutely marvelous...I only wish I could have stayed on them but I had thickning of the uterus wall...so they don't recommend when this has Been spotted..jx
You need progesterone capsuls called Urogestan you take it orally with the Everol estrogen patch that will keep your uterus lining thin.
yes this is the usual dose to start but I have seen recommendations for daily use.
Thanks for you reply .
I struggled under those recommendations for years. Finally saw a gynecologist and ended up daily for for 4 months to get vagina back in order. Also use a pea size amount of estrone cream on the outside around the opening daily. Gynecologist has now put me back to twice a week and still daily estrone cream. Seems to be holding. Yes, the twice a week is not good for so many women. My general practitioner said that if I used it anymore then twice a week I would need to go on progesterone but my gynecologist said absolutely not because it is localized. See if you can see a specialist, gynecologist, who works with mature women. The information on the Vagifem box and that so many General Practitioners have is very outdated.
