If you haven’t used the pill before, I would start with that, because it’s easy to stop and try a different pill if it doesn’t suit you. I’ve never tried a patch, but the benefit is that you don’t have to remember every day.

The increased risk of blood clots is 6 in 10,000. My maths tells me that is and increase to 0.0006% chance. The research tells us that the risk is doubled for those who take the pill. So presumably the risk if you don’t take the pill is 0.0003%.

Because the risk of blood clots is so low, a doubled risk really isn’t that significant- still really low.

There’s a trend to want to avoid medications and be ‘natural’. I get that. But I take strong medicication every day. I need it and I am grateful that it is available. 🙂

Take care. Hope you get sorted.

Hi Mia

The pill is probably your go-to option. Women using it for many years all over thw world.

Have a chat with your doctor about it.

Yes. The pill does seem to have a positive effect on mood swings, in my experience.

Gabapentin is not a form of birth control it is actually an anti seizure medication often prescribed for nerve pain. I take it for my sciatic nerve pain.
