Sexual help

My boyfriend and I had sex for the first time this afternoon. Don’t worry we were safe. However, I have spina bifida and I could feel everything until he penetrated. When he did, I couldn’t feel it anymore. I enjoyed being with him but really didn’t get any enjoyment out of the sex itself. He did, but I didn’t. I could still feel everything on the outside, but nothing on the inside.

🤔It is just possible that is linked to spina bifida..

Results: Sexual dysfunction was noted in 55.5% of women with spina bifida who had sexual activity in the previous month. ... Conclusions: More than half of sexually active women with spina bifida experience sexual dysfunction. Therefore, health-care providers should pay attention to the symptoms and their management.9 Mar 2018

Yes, it is definitely related in my opinion.

🤔 Can you speak to your GP/Specialist to ask if there’s any help available..

Yes I’m sure I could, but I don’t think there is anything to help since it has to do with the nerves being damaged from the spina bifida.

As the life expectancy of persons with spina bifida increases, sexual life in adulthood presents a considerable challenge for this population. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sexual function of young women with spina bifida and its impact on their quality of life (QOL). 👍

I read a lot of articles and everything, but there isn’t much out there about this specific situation.

You might find it helpful to read..’sex and spina bifida for women’ sbhi.ie it covers difficulties that that happen, and offers suggestions. I’m not saying this is the answer but it might help you decide where to go from here.
