I started taking desogestrel contraceptive pill three months ago and have more a less bled continuously. I appreciate my body will take a few months to adjust, but this is inconvenient and getting me down. Should I persist?

The same happened to me. I gave it 3 months and then gave up and had the Mirena fitted, which I don’t love but I will live it as I no longer have periods. The constant bleeding really got me down and the GP said it just doesn’t suit some people, you maybe one of them too. I’d try another brand or method.

Thanks. I called Gp and going back to microgynon

It’s amazing what women put up with 🙂 But I think you deserve better, don’t you? You need contraception that doesn’t ruin your life. Take care.
