Hey ladies anybody got any Remedies or advice to treat thrush ?

Basically last week I went to the to Gp who stated its thrush, she prescribed me a pessary which I used I’ve also been using the canesten cream. The symptoms disappeared for a few days . However last night it seems as though the thrush has come back in full vengeance! I hardly slept due to uncomfortableness and itchy ness . I really don’t know what to do p.s I’m 28 weeks pregnant xx

Oh the joys of pregnancy!!!

I’d have telephone app with GP or your Pharmacist!

My daughter is expecting 6dec date, and this difficult Covid19 is a big impact for expectant ladies!

But the joy and pleasure to come is a wonderful thought to keep you focused 😊

🙂 Congratulations on being pregnant.

You’ll probably find it helpful to cut down on sugar and yeast while having treatment, these two things tend to encourage thrush and Candida. I agree with the previous comment, speak to your GP. Thrush can recur during pregnancy due to hormone levels but it’s always best to be reassured.

Your doctor may prescribe antifungal pessaries and creams that are suitable for your stage of pregnancy. .

If you’ve been prescribed pessaries, you may prefer to put it in place by hand rather than use the applicator provided, as it may be gentler on your cervix. Pessaries are best inserted at night so the treatment can work while you’re lying down .

Thrush can be hard to clear up during pregnancy, so be sure to use the full course of treatment that you’ve been prescribed. Go back to your doctor if your symptoms haven’t cleared up in a week to two weeks.

Speak to your doctor before using over-the-counter treatments. They may not be suitable for use during pregnancy.

Don’t take medicines that you have to swallow to treat thrush. Doctors don’t yet know whether they are safe for pregnant women.

Did you have a swab to diagnose thrush as might be something else. Go back to your Gp
