Canesten

My GP nurse saw me and suggested Canesten pessary. I took it but to no avail (also the pessary did not work properly) I went back to the doctor in 2 days and she suggested Flucanazole oral tabled (150 mg 1 dose) that give relief for a day or so but then again the following week my thrush came back.

I’ve taken a Canesten pessary this week and am now having a period like bleed. I’ve never had this before from Canesten. Has anyone experienced similar? I’m wondering if I actually have Vaginal atrophy and welcome any thoughts!

I used a Canesten pessary a couple of days ago and now have period like bleeding. Never experienced this after treatment and pretty sure it’s not a normal period bleed. Any advice on similar welcome

I have tried Canesten and Lexerma they work temporarily but are otherwise useless, . A special (expensive) shower gel- is equally useless.

I’m likely to be having my next FET in approximately 3 weeks so is taking an over the counter canesten type medication advisable? I’ve used some organic virgin coconut oil around the area for now which is providing an element of relief… Don’t want this to delay the next FET ideally!

I have taken a Canesten combi treatment in the past couple of months but the itch has returned. Can someone enlighten me about the above? Thank you in advance!

I have just started using Canesten cream down below and now it feels so itchy!

GP prescribed Canesten - which I've used before. The pharmacy say it's out of stock. GP offered me Otomize - which I'd rather not use. I 've tried to buy Canesten from chemist direct but there's no sign of it yet. Does anyone have any in date Canesten that I could have?

I went to the pharmacy and ordered canesten ..I applied this for a couple of days as it recommended however it caused burning and was extremely irritating.

Oh, and also a rip roaring dose of thrush 🦅 so I will switch pessaries from PV to PR and hope the clinic give me the go ahead for a canesten pessary. I hope this post will be useful to anyone going through the 2WW. Next step for us is a 7 week scan in 3 weeks time. Hopefully all will be well.

Sorry for the TMI post…. Anyone know if I can use a thrush tablet before a frozen embryo transfer ? It’s not till Tuesday so 5 days away. I went to my GP and he said to go the canesten duo. Didn’t ease. I then was given the 2% cream and the oral tablet. Which didn’t ease it. I’ve been to the sexual health clinic and tests have been ran. No thrush detected, no BV, no STI detected but I’m still struggling with burning and itching.

But, when I was applying the fungal cream (pharmacy had given me canesten) I was experiencing a cold like feeling on my penis head and AFTER I would urinate I would feel a sense of burning on the PENIS HEAD (not tip or urethra) when sat down ..presumably droplets of urine mixing with cream and inflammation

i got some canesten internal and external creams to used .never had any utis or thrush till iv had the pressary ring

Went to the GP today, no sign of infection but they sent off a swab still, prescribed canesten cream and Elma numbing cream, has anyone else been in this situation? Does Elma work?

tried taking Apple Cider Vinegar, and Canesten cream, but can't really get to the base head of penis due to foreskin. It's just annoying now as I feel it in the day, and at night, waking up, it just builds up

We’re using bepanthen barrier cream and today the pharmacist has given me canesten as well. Any advice on how/whether to use them together? Should we wake her for a change in the night? I am loathe to disturb her and also not sure if this will make things better or worse?
