Hey girl. I'm an RN. Are you in menopause yet? Do you have any pain with sex? Do you bleed/spot at any other time besides right after sex? If not menopausal are you due to get your period soon or any chance of pregnancy? When was your last pelvic exam/pap smear? Any history of abnormal paps? Ever had a positive HPV test result? Although not necessarily considered "normal," a lot of women in their 40s do occasionally spot for various reasons that aren't alarming.

Hi sweetie I think I could be menopausal or on the way too.. I did just get it after sex but last 2 days hubby tried with me yesterday morning and I’ve been spotting ever since just seems to be bright red in the morning but then I don’t all day it’s strange...I’m probably due last week in September.... my smears are all up to date had abnormal cells over 10 years ago but was sorted early so my smears have been normal ever since I’m not due a smear for 2 years...had a cyst removed off my left ovary size of a cricket ball in 2017....never had a positive hpv test result but just never had spotting during my cycle that’s just confusing me that’s all I’m wondering if my husband may have gave me a tear inside and I don’t know about it

You need to get checked by your GP, may be nothing to worry about but equally it could be something that needs attention, if your GP can't find anything obvious then you should be referred to a Gynaecologist on the 2 week pathway for investigations, the longer you leave it the more you will worry !

Hello there. Ive been for scans for unusually bleeding, I’m post menopausal so they usually fast track you which is a bit scary, but both times everything has come back normal. Try not to worry, easier said than done I know, but having a scan will put your mind at rest, as not knowing and worrying just makes thing worse. I think sometimes our hormones just like to keep us on our toes. Good luck with the scan x

Where are you in your cycle? It can be common to get small amounts of spotting around ovulation time. I went through a spell of it.

If it was slightly rough sex, it's also possible you have some tears that you're just knocking the subsequent times (like knocking a scab off a cut).

You should go to your doctor about any unusual bleeding though, just to rule anything serious out. There are lots of non-serious things that could cause bleeding down there though, so it's most likely nothing to worry about.
