Hi. I'm dawn from PH. I'm suffering from depression and anxiety. Does anyone here experienced this before? I just need some advice on how to deal with this.

🙂 search ‘Healthunlocked Living with Anxiety’. Or, search ‘Healthunlocked Communities’ to see other options.

Thank you so much

Hi I just wanted to mention that thyroid function, adrenals and cortisol and hormone fluctuations can cause this and Functional medicine doctors can help you treat it naturally. Personally I’ve found this route better than synthetic pharmaceuticals and I like to point this option out cuz many folks don’t know about it.

Hi. Thank you for responding. Can you elaborate?

Peri menopause starts in your thirties and it can throw you into symptoms that may have you thinking you need antidepressants when you may actually benefit more from taking a look at your thyroid function and other hormones with a doctors help. Bio identical hormone replacement therapy is called BHRT and it’s derived from plants and readily recognized by the human body, as opposed to synthetic hrt which can be made from pregnant horse urine which can be patented by the pharmaceutical companies, unlike plant derived therapy. So it’s all about the money for them, not your health. This hormonal roller coaster can give you whiplash. Or you may not feel it at all. But I sure wish I knew that I’d be helped far better with Functional medicine (natural medicine that gets to the root cause instead of slapping on a band aid of synthetic antidepressants which is what traditional doctors often do). So the main point here is 1) be aware that your hormones may go sideways on you way sooner than you’d think because it’s just not talked about much and 2) antidepressants actually will make it worse by mucking up your liver which is already overloaded trying to metabolize possible excess estrogens and 3) thyroid function could plummet too which has the exact same symptoms of anxiety and depression that make women think they need antidepressants.

Dr Christiane Northrup, Dr Sara Gottfried, Dr Mark Hyman are the kind of doctors who can steer you toward actual freedom from these symptoms. Just what I’ve learned from my journey and I share in hopes of saving you a lot of time and misery.
