I have been suffering from hot sweats on and off all day every since I had a heart attack 2 years ago. I have got an under-active thyroid gland. I have been to the doctors, they have put it down to my heart attack. Is anyone else experiencing hot sweats?

Hot Sweats!!!
Yes this is your Thyroid acting up, if not on medication I would see a Doctor get to get the right treatment.
I'm waiting for my thyroid blood test results - my last test showed a borderline under active thyroid. I have been getting hot sweats too, and perhaps the blood results will confirm the preliminary diagnosis. However, a few of my medications can also produce sweating as a side effect - my hot sweats are much worse at night or when I'm in a warm room. They mostly affect the palms of my hands and my groin area, including the upper thighs. You should certainly go back to your doctor, because thyroid meds do ease the sweats, and if your under active thyroid has actually been properly diagnosed as such, I'm surprised you're not on drugs already. If your own doctor doesn't want to prescribe them, you must ask him why not, and ask for the actual reading from the blood test you will have had initially. Normal thyroid function is 2.0, and mine was 1.8, for example. And you can always ask for a second opinion from an endocrinologist! Good luck.
