Weigh day today and I am disappointed after week one I have only lost 1 lbs and one inch from my waist! I have been eating between 1200-1400 calories a day and been walking 3 miles each day too.
I've not given up .....yet! Started week 2 this morning, so fingers crossed!
Think I may even pop to Argos for a new set of scales in case they are faulty!!

You've lost an inch? That's actually really good. Most people need to lose more than 1lb to see any difference around their waist. You should be really happy!
Keep going, you sound like you're in the right place to make lasting changes to your lifestyle.
Yelenots,
They're probably not faulty at all.
However, your body weight goes up and down during the day. By quite a bit actually, probably over a kg for some folk. That's obvious really because food is going in and waste going out and loads of complex chemical reactions are going on.
My advice is to weigh yourself consistently at the start of the day, (after your first pee) and before any food or exercise.
Prior to that you'll have been asleep for some hours and won't have eaten so it's a pretty good place in the daily ups and downs to use to monitor a trend. I personally weigh myself every morning, but am really mainly watching the overall weekly change.
Some would say I shouldn't weigh myself so often, but it suits me.
Remember that different people will lose weight at different speeds and will lose fat from different parts of their bodies.
The important thing is that you've started a downward trend. Also, even if it had been the same weight that you started at, then at least you would have bucked the getting weightier trend.
So, you've started. Now just keep on riding that weight-loss bus.
Hi Doikosp, I did weigh myself as soon as i'd got up! Didn't bother with new scales....I'll get on them again in the morning.....hopefully say something different!
If it makes you feel any better, I seem to lose weight in fits and starts and I had about four days in a row with no drop.
As you do - I began to wonder if I'd hit some sort of wall. Surely not? I've still got loads of weight to lose!
Day after that, I dropped half a kilo!
If you are walking 3 miles a day, than you will find you are toning up and building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. You have done well. Losing an inch shows you have lost fat and toned that tum. Well done!!!
