Welcome to another week to the Fit is Fun Club!!This thread will be open from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th. The idea is for you to post your exercise achievements from last week and your proposed goals for this coming week. This will not be a competition, but declared plans are easier to stick to and encouragement and support from fellow members are good motivators.
We love to see photos, so please share the ones that are related to your exercise - or not ๐-
Summer it`s finished!! We start school, work and renew our promises of more exercise and less food. Gyms are full of new people.
Lets start this course with fresh optimism and energy and find yourself some new exercise that you want to try!!
I have realised that the most difficult thing to achieve is consistency (it applies both to exercise and healthy eating) so it is really important to find something that you enjoy doing.
This week I have run twice (still on the couch to 5 program) it is getting tougher so I have repeat the runs of week 5 twice.
I have reached my steps goals 4 days.
My plans for next week are very much the same, but if the weather is less hot I hope to walk a little more.
What about you? Donโt forget that this is an all inclusive club, so all types of activity and all abilities are welcomed and the aim is for each of us to highlight our preferred activities to give us all new ideas for exercise.
Please take some time to encourage your fellow FiF'ers, as this is all about giving each other support and inspiration!.
My pictures are from last week excursiรณn. Prehistoric pictures. A romanic atrium. An a visigod church... plus a few grapes typical September fruit.
Please TeamAdmin Lock until Monday.
Feel free to change the title.

What beautiful photos xx2000 . Thanks for hosting us this week. Well done on reaching your steps goal & even better to manage week 5 C2C runs. I could never get past this point.
I have received by medal for my Lands End to John OโGroats challenge & itโs gorgeous. I have signed up for the Welsh Coast Path challenge which is 100 miles .
This week I have walked 83665 steps which is approximately 34 miles.
According to the Active 10 app I have briskly walked for 301 minutes out of a total 465 minutes walked.
My knee is sore at the moment so I am trying to be a be more careful with my walks until it is better.
Welcome!! Congratulations on your John ogrouts challenge!! ๐๐ I went to Welsh this summer and did about 2 miles of the coastal path- beautiful!! You will enjoy the virtual path as well!Take care of your knee don't go too fast!

I will take it easy - I have been out for a nice walk this morning before starting work but it was already about 19ยฐC at 7am & humid
Hello, and thank you for hosting this week. I had a good week last week- the training programme for the charity walk is certainly helping with maintaining my weight and activity levels. The training programme finishes next week (the charity 1/2 marathon walk is 15th September), but I think I will continue the training programme, I just have to decide with month I will stick with, or if I will start from the beginning again and go through the whole programme๐ค. I have decided to add core exercises to the aerobic and strength exercises since though I have lost some weight my pot (lower abs) haven't changed I managed 114364 steps (47.8m) and 599 mins of brisk exercise (535 mins brisk walking and 64mins of exercise). My goals last week were to complete the training programme for the week (2x5m and 1x8m walks and aerobic & strength exercises); as well as 6 days of 10,000 steps of which 5 days to be 15000+ steps, which I achieved.
This week I plan to take my friend's dog out for 2 walks and work 2 short shifts, as well as staring to wind down on the training programme which for this month is 2x4m walks and then each week reduce mileage of the longer walk from 7m to 6m and exercises. I plan to do aerobic, weights and core exercises from YouTube- I don't follow any particular person I just see what looks interesting My step goals for this week are 6 days of 10,000 steps and 5 days of 15000+ steps and the day when I am under10000 steps, I will do 7500 steps which is what researchers say is just as beneficial to health as 10,000 steps/day.
Seems a really busy week! It is great that you are enjoying the training programme as well as seeing some results! Strength exercises are suppose to be great for tonification and weight control so good luck with them. Hope that you also enjoy the half marathon when the day comes. I guess you will do it walking and not running. You are more than prepared for it, just be careful with the blisters!!
xx2000 thanks fir looking after us this week โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธthe photos and everything you have done in the week.
I am walking but not as much as last year and that's OK, 1083 plus 500 is 1583 and I have done 1328, so getting there for the 500miles... I will then buy the 500 mile badge from country walking.
I am enjoying some meditation twice a week which is so relaxing.
I have got to the allotment as well twice last week.
This week going to walk outside every day and bring the phone so active 10 records the brisk. Really happy managed 212 minutes last week.
Love you all. You keep me moving. ๐๐๐โฅ๏ธโค๏ธ๐

Look at your brisk minutes Wine , that is really impressive ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
I have already reached the 20% point of the Wales Coast Path challenge, I think I will need to choose another longer one after my knee is better as I canโt keep buying them one after another ๐คฃ
Thank you for creating this great accountability post. Iโm just re-starting with a goal of 1.5 stone to lose.
Last week I managed one weights session and 50km of walking. This week Iโm aiming for two weights sessions, 60km of walking and to track my calories for at least four days. I work too much in a stressful sedentary job so fingers crossed!
Hi esnaker and welcome to this group!! 50km a week is great and 60 is even better!! Hope that you enjoy walking and you have fiund a nice place to walk ... pictures are always welcomed!!.
I have heard that weights is a great way to gain nuscle and very useful to lose weight. Just keep us informed!!
Welcome back Esnacker. Many things have changed since you were last here. This is the link to our pinned posts where you will find everything that we haave to offer, including our Dialy Diary where we share our meal plans and our weekly weigh in where we both offer and receive support. Just click on the blue link.
May I suggest that you split that 1.5 stone into smaller, more achievable, minigoals. As you're going to count your calories, remember to look at what you're eating and not just at the numbers
Thanks for hosting. Glad your still doing the c25k๐, keep it going.Yes definitely renewed promises to ourselves about food and exercise.
A nice run for me today after missing a week with visitors. I enjoyed it with some new music and my fave virtual run video. Its warm and humid for now after overnight rain but looking forward to some cooler weather and some outdoor running.
It is great that you enjoy your run after a while. I can only run outside (no tredmile) but, withou that opportunity, i guess the virtual videos will help a lot. ๐
Hi xx2000 and everyone. I set myself the challenge of walking 10 brisk minutes a day, and I'm very happy to say that I managed an extra 100 minutes of walking, compared to my first week, 40 mins of which were brisk.
I'm not setting myself a fitness challenge this week because I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm going back to college (at the age of 55), and I'm spending a lot of time preparing for a maths assessment.
Good luck to you all with your fitness goals. Go smash it ๐ช
Aaw thank-you! I feel sick with nerves and keep crying. But I keep telling myself it's just fear of the unknown, and I'll be fine once I've started the course.
good luck starting college ...I am sure you will love it after the nerves go..and hopefully you will enjoy the course and maybe the students will go to a cafe or pub afterwards for a debrief...maths assessment absolutely good luck and hope you sae through it...all the best.โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Just the daily dogwalk today so far, may swim later buts its tipping it down and though the water is warm the motivation really isnโt. A piccie of todays hedgerow harvest, delicious green figs.
Hi frenchfields! A dog walk is good but hopefully you will find the energy to swim. It is hard to start but you know you will feel better afterwards! ๐
Hi all, this is my best day of brisk walking since I started on August 20th, and I'm really happy ๐ I didn't set myself a fitness challenge for this week, as I was feeling overwhelmed about starting college, and busy prepping for a maths assessment. But I've had the maths assessment now, and I'm feeling better about starting my courses next week. So I'll try to get more brisk walks in during the rest of this week
Haha love it! And thankyou โบ๏ธ Before I started here on August 20th, I was barely leaving my bedroom, let alone the house, as my mental health was so fragile. I've got massive hypertension too, so I'm not allowed to exercise at the moment, which just exasperated everything... But joining here and getting so much support and kindness has been Amazing ~ And it's really down to the wonderful folk on this forum for helping me start to turn things around ๐ฅฐ
So my week has been pretty standard exercise wise, only 2 runs this week, canโt remember why I didnโt run on Monday. Swimming most days, missed one but did double the next day. I wonโt get a long dogwalk today which I like to do on Sundays ( 4 or5 miles, so not too long) as weโre going to friends for coffee ( and probably cake!) In aid of mr ffs birthday on Wednesday. My youngest is coming in a couple of weeks, talking about going to a different gym ( the local one is pretty basic) so might go with him, would also like to find an indoor pool for the winter. Sorry to bring up the โwโ word. Have a good Sunday folks.
Fantastic week, especially the swimming ๐โโ๏ธ I'd like to get back into swimming, but our leisure centre is closed till late next year for a complete refurb ๐ Enjoy your coffee โ๏ธ cake ๐ฐ and catchup!
I have to take a plane in a few minutes so i will be "offline" for the rest of the day. It has been a pleasure to host this group. Enjoy the week and take care!!
