Hello all. I would like to ask if those ads of weight loss supplements (tea, liquid drink…) have any effectiveness. And if yes, how healthy are they? Anyone here has experienced it, suggestions / recommendations would be very appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi and welcome, Santos82
Sadly there are many manufacturers out there willing to prey on vulnerable people desperate to lose weight, who proclaim their snake oils will miraculously aid with weight loss, when in fact, the only way to successfully achieve that is by eating and drinking the correct foods and taking some regular form of exercise for health.
All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/weight-l... and we hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.
We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.
Wishing you all the best
As much as I would love for one of them to be true there is nothing that will help except doing more exercise to burn the calories than the amount of calories you eat, the only time I managed to loose weight was when I was not trying to once was when in Kenya with the army and the guy on watter supply put so much chlorine in the water which gave the whole camp diarrhoea at the time I was quite fit and weighed just below 14 stone and at the end of it I was just over 9 stone and most of the camp was similar. The second time was when my ex left me I use to use an exercise bike every few days to try and stop gaining more after she left, I noticed that I was losing a little weight and decided I would try and lose a bit more so every night when I came home from work I had my dinner then went onto the bike I started out only doing around 10 minutes before I was bored so I started putting the TV on and watched the news then I slowly increased the time I was on it at the end I would watch the news plus a movie and the weight fell off me but in the end I stopped using the bike as I moved out of the house and on to my sail boat in the end when I came back to UK as my disability was getting worse and it was dangerous for me on the boat but I have been home for 9 years and have gained a huge amount but I cannot do any form of exercise and being on my own I tend to eat to pass the time, so whilst I know how to lose weight I cannot do it so if you are able to exercise start of easy then slowly increase it until you are at the weight you feel is right for you.
Regards Poppy Ann.
Hi Santos82, I completely agree with moreless regarding charlatans and "miracle" supplements, although my secret is drinking a glass of still water every hour during the day! I wish there was a magic cure to obesity and being overweight but it really does boil down to balancing foods and moving more. I wish you luck in your journey.
