Carb hangover?

I have reduced my carbs and increased my protein. Last couple of days I’ve felt drained

And sluggish. Like I’m hungover only I’m

Not. Is this carb withdrawal? 😄

Hi alislim, if you reduce your carbs you need to increase your healthy fats. Here's a link which you should find helpful.

Hi you need to make sure you're drinking enough water and getting enough salt too. Your body will soon adjust don't worry 😊

Check you are also eating enough foods that keep your iron levels up. An iron deficiency can make you feel tired and sluggish.

I know I’m not getting enough iron to be honest. I will look into more iron heavy foods and failing that take a supplement

If you're trying to get into ketosis, too much protein will also prevent this

Hi alislim,

When I started my slimming world plan I had this and I think regardless of if you are LCHF or not, changing your eating pattern can affect you. I reduced my carbs and sugar and when I brought it up in group a few people spoke of this feeling and it seems to be the changing from your routine to a new one. It did pass and I didn't increase my fats just my protein and swapped my carbs for better GI ones.
