I was a chocoholic too. I’ve never liked sweets but would eat them if they were covered in chocolate! In fact anything covered in chocolate 😂. If it was part of a healthy diet my count would have been 10 a day never mind 5. But that was a few years ago now. I only noticed I had changed when one lunchtime I walked into a chocolate shop, had a look around and walked out again - empty handed 😮. My chocolate of choice now is an occasional square of 90% and higher dark chocolate. But I do have some cocoa every day in a dessert or for breakfast. I have 100gms of Greek yoghurt every day (I make my own) and I add 2-3gms of unsweetened cocoa, chia seeds and prunes, nuts or frozen berries . Would something like that work for you? Diet doctor.com has lots of chocolate dessert recipes.

Can you Start but cutting down to say once a day after a meal and really savour it? If you’re like I was cold turkey is not an option as I would cave in and eat It until I felt sick. Go for quality chocolate and gradually build up the cocoa content. If you can cut your carbohydrate intake that will help as the need for a sweet taste will reduce. Basically don’t buy it in bulk, just one at a time and don’t have a treat drawer. Would you be so keen to have it if you had to go and get it first?

Hello and welcome Hidden

If you seriously have a problem then perhaps Cold Turkey is the solution, I would even go further and suggest a low carbohydrate diet, which many have found useful in dealing with a sweet tooth

Hi Katowice. I too was a chronic chocoholic any time any place:...... that was until I started LCHF (low carbs high healthy fats) on here and I kid you not I no longer crave sweet stuff let alone chocolate.

I joined 2 years ago but certain thing happened that I had no control over and I returned to the comfort/binge eating.

I restarted nearly 3 weeks ago and I know I am losing weight as my clothes no longer feel uncomfortable actually some are definitely baggy........

The support you will get on here is heart warming it’s like one big happy family there to support your every move so take advantage and climb aboard I am certain you will not regret it... good luck and I look forward to seeing your journey😊

Hello Katowice, like yourself I have a weight problem for others. I am very over weight according to the said tables. I have been the same weight for a long time now do not eat a particular bad food just too much of any food. It is the only vice I do have at present I am using this so called miracle patch lose 30lb in a month , waste of money it does not work. I love chocolate, including chocolate biscuits, but sometimes think people eat these things for energy perk or lift the spirits. I would suggest fruit instead if you really feel you have a problem. I have dieted in the past and even exercise at a gym did not alter my weight. I need to reduce my weight due to arthritis in my lower limbs as the pain is quite severe now and I need a knee replacement so they suggest. Is the chocolate causing you weight issues? I am still active but reduced mobility since December. This reply is only because you seem to want to follow my posts. Good luck

Have you seen those sugar free chocolates on amazon? Think they are called Nicks.

I personally would buy individual mini chocolate....never multi packs or grab bags. Perhaps like a small fudge bar? Dont but the chocolate where you have 2 bars or is bigger than your finger.

For my kids i buy individual kinder eggs....thats it. I know I have no self control so dont go there.

I cant fold the other half of the chocolate away for the next day .. .

I never buy nutella jars for the same reason.....

HAVE A SMALL BAR OF FUDGE EACH DAY JUST BEFORE BED ....and only ever keep one small bar each day. If you fast for 12 hours then feast with steamed veg, protein, 3 or 4 glasses of water or low cal drinks (i use fanta zero and vimto zero).....your tummy is going to be nega full

Then wait one or two hours then open a sparkling zero fizzy water and have your chocolate.

I would try to pair it with chilli flake avacado or a yoghurt or low GI foods like strawberries and blueberries or low fat quark. For a sweet treat I like low fat pineapple cottage cheese.....even if you binge on a tub ( i cant its too much) you are hardly taking in much calories. Binge on whole cucumbers, full packs of green rocket, a box of cherry tomatoes....all still lovely and sweet but also much healthier!

Goood luck
