Hi Ming46,
Welcome to the Weight Loss NhS forum, and I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community. I would recommend reading our Welcome Newbie post as a good starting point, as it introduces things in the forum that members have found helpful - just take a look at the Pinned Posts area (top right-hand side of the homepage).

There are lots of pages in the NHS Choices website, and especially the NHS 12 week plan is a great structure and full of helpful information and suggestions to help you. Many of us follow that plan, and have found it really helpful.
Wishing you a great weekend, and hope to see you around and about in the forum. It's a supportive and friendly place.

It just seems to get boring after a while 😣
Hi! Take a look at the 12 week plan I am now on week 3 and it is easier than you think yes you still need will power but I have found this easier than anything also and I have been on many different fad diets. Use the calorie checker and get yourself a pedometer or fit bit etc you don't reach for that chocolate bar when you know how far you have to walk to burn it off, I have just said NO to a Mc flurry my daughter bought me wouldn't have done that 4 weeks ago. The people on this forum will give you advice when you need it and it is the best thing I have done but you have to change your mindset I know it's easier said than done but it is a life change even after we lose the weight eventually like me you get fed up of being the fat one of the family but I know the only person who can do this is ME I am solely responsible for myself. You have made the first step keep looking and being involved with the forum it does help keep you on the right track. Good Luck Bev
I too did SW a few years ago and it was brill till I had a few weeks off, knew I had put weight on and was so ashamed I didn't go back, bad mistake cause I put the whole lot back on then. I think if you start the 12 week plan you will start to think differently about food I know I have, don't get me wrong a slice of chocolate cake or fish and chips sound fantastic but my sub conscious now tells me what's in it for you? Where is the goodness in that? I only hope I can keep thinking this way. Well good luck onwards and downwards my friend!
