I suggest you join the daily diary, nickandchriss777, so that you can see what others are eating and devise a plan that would work for you. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Lots of good ideas and techniques to explore on this forum. I went for Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) for my 6 stone loss. The trick is to find the process that works for you. Good luck. 😊
I don’t know what your eating regime is at present but a good start would be to clear out any unhealthy sugar filled snacks, cakes and treats as they may derail your efforts. If you can slowly wean yourself off sugar and start eating just home made meals from fresh or frozen ingredients you will get the benefits of good nutrition and your body will begin to use it’s fat stores for energy.
Try to decrease your intake of white starchy vegetables - potatoes, rice, pasta and exotic fruits as they all break down into high sugar in the digestive process. Don’t buy anything labelled as low fat or low calorie as these too have higher sugar than normal versions, or contain sugar substitutes which have the same effect as sugar in your body but also contain lots of unnecessary ‘nasties’.
Increase your intake of vegetables and salads. You can replace potatoes etc with whole grains like quinoa, bulgar wheat and cous cous which are lower carbohydrate. Don’t be afraid of natural fats, you don’t need to have masses but they will make you feel fuller, and if you are not hungry you will find you can stick to this regime more easily. Don’t forget protein. Have moderate amounts of chicken, fish, beef, lamb, nuts, legumes and seeds.
Perhaps reduce your portion sizes and drink lots of water throughout the day.
This may all seem a bit overwhelming but if you just change one thing at a time you will soon get used to it and your body will thank you in the long term.
Good luck and keep posting on this forum for support. X
