Hi guys, so I’m new, I’m 25 and randomly decided to join up here, I’ve tried every diet imaginable and the biggest I’ve been in my life (about 5 stone overweight) I’m currently sticking to just trying to eat healthy and exercise, which I enjoy for a bit then lose track! I feel awful and need motivation, I also have a little girl and would love to do it for her, I’m hoping this gives me the kick I need and motivation!

Hello and a very warm welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Kaylsx

If you haven’t already then please read the Welcome Message (in your inbox) and follow the link to Pinned Posts. In case you missed it here’s the link again here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please read it carefully so you can find all the information you need to find your way around the forum.

The best advice I can give is have enough to eat. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400/1900 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the biggest cause of weight loss failure.

What you eat is also important. Fat is no longer believed to be the bad guy, it’s an essential nutrient and essential for satiety. Please read this for a more detailed explanation

As a peer to peer support group we rely totally upon mutual encouragement. Nothing beats joining in, reading posts and replying to others. Our Group Weigh-in and the Daily Diary are probably the best places to start

Best wishes in your weight loss journey

Indigo 😊

This community is really working for me. I don't let my habits slip, because I don't want to be ashamed at the weekly weigh in or skip it.

I hope it can do the same for you.

25 is a good age, your body will bounce back once you lose the weight.

Thank you!! I’ve been sticking to it and enjoying the exercise side of things, so hopefully that helps a lot! Monday is going to be my weigh day so I’m looking forward to that! I’m glad it’s working for you too!
