Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Ela25 😊
If you haven’t already then please read the Pinned Posts here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... where you will find all the information you need to find your way around
This is a very busy forum with lots going on, and nothing beats joining in, reading posts and replying to others. Our group Weigh-in and the Daily Diary are probably the best places to start.
Best wishes in your weight loss journey
Indigo 😊
Hi Ela25. I’m new too and this is my first message! Today is my first day back on calorie counting. I think my head has been in the sand with how much weight I have actually put on but I am hoping I am in the right frame of mind to tackle it now. One thing I’m not sure I want to do this time is weekly weigh ins. Think I may do monthly ones instead because a week goes by so quickly and I don’t want to get hung up on the scales too much that I get mad at myself for a slip up. At least a month gives a more steady and broader picture. Anyone else avoid the weekly weigh ins?
Hi just a quick reply, other options to think about .....
you could still join the team on day of your choice and weigh in monthly or join ,weigh monthly but visit the weekly group chosen each week to offer support but not weigh in yourself?
Thank you! Yes I am planning on joining in the chats and discussions as much as I can for motivation and I’ll weigh as and when I feel like it. I don’t want to become obsessive with it, I want this to become a new way of life and for it to be sustainable. I want to go off how I feel, not just a number in front of me x
Hi, Ela25 , welcome.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
Thank you for the kind responses and warm welcome. I generally eat well, but what I have done is drink more than I'd like and as a consequence then eat badly too.
I'm determined to cut back on alcohol currently doing dry January. Also build.in some self care time and stop rushing.
I love to cook, from scratch and love to grow my own veg etc. I think I need a lifestyle change.....less working late, skipping breakfast and dinner etc.
Any ideas for low cal refreshing none alcoholic drinks would be nice?
