Hi, new person here. Need to lose the weight I’ve gained after breaking my hip from falling off my horse. I’m not getting on the scales thinking of going by my clothes. I’d say I’ve put 7-9 lbs to lose. Limited in exercise obviously 🙄 at the moment. I’m just 3 months post op. I’m also considering cutting out the rubbish & just smaller plate sizes? Thoughts 💭😊

Hi and welcome, moorlandwitch
Ouch! That sounds painful!
Cutting out the rubbish sounds like a good idea, but you don't want to reduce your intake too much and end up hungry, cranky and ready to throw in the towel Have a look at this for different way of thinking phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

Hi mlw and welcome to this lovely forum. You will find there are more ways than one to lose weight. I suggest you look into them all,we are all different with different lifestyles etc.
I'm sorry to here you broke your hip by falling off a horse. I've ridden and taught riding for many years. I did get kicked once and broke a couple of ribs.

I recommend joining in with the Daily Diary where we share our menù for the next day, I find this helps me stay on track.
Another good one is the weekly weigh in, choose a day and you'll become part of a team, which is a great incentive to lose weight.
Good luck,🍀
Hi, moorlandwitch , welcome.
I was disabled when I joined - and it did not stop me losing a pound a week.
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
Thank you, I’m hoping to get back walking ASAP. I can walk it’s just not like I use to 4-6 miles a day with my dogs x it will take time as I’ve metal in my leg which can cause discomfort at times whilst the muscle covers it x
You may find you get back to full mobility after about 12 months. See the suggestions from Pineapple27 for weight adjustment.
