I have struggled since I was a teenager with yoyo dieting. I have lost weight then gained it again, I have tried every single diet going and beat myself up daily with the fact I am not strong enough to get to me goal weight. Now I am getting closer to 50 I wonder if there is anyone out there who has had the same struggle and is there a way if stopping the yoyo?

Hi I thinks it’s more about the mind then which diet. I’m a yo yoer too but managing to get to my healthy BMI and hoping to stay here.
I watched this YouTube video and thought it made a lot of sense. It’s pretty long but it might have the answer you are looking for.
When I came here I followed a cal controlled approach and lost 18kgs. Much of that was mind over matter. I maintained for a short while and thought that any other approach to eating was 'not for me'. I eventually stuck it all back on.
I'm always wary of trying not to sound evangelical but having moved to lchf, I am again losing weight but this time around it isn't a case of mind over matter and it isn't a struggle. I eat great food and I don't have any of the cravings that I kept thinking I should be able to control but which I couldn't.
Why not pop into the Daily Diary right now. You can see what people following different paths are eating.
Best of luck!
Hi, Moontiger47 , welcome.
I got down to my target weight before I was 70!
If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
