Hello everyone My title says I'm new to dieting but I'm actually not, I have started lots and lots of diets in my teen years, that is because I was never happy with the way I looked and ..of course I gained all my weight as a consequence to my failed diets. And here I am , doing it one more time, but this time trying to 'transform' my way of eating and to get a bit more organised , if I must say, because I soon want to have a baby and I want to get healthier so that my baby will born healthy as well. And of course, because I want to be fitter and all my older clothes to fit me again..
I know it's right before Christmas and all the people I've told I was on a diet told me #Oh, best time of the year to start a diet , eh?# but I kept doing what I thought it was right. I've started on Sunday, the 13th of December and today I've weighed myself, I have lost 3kg. Most of my new routine includes me not having anything to eat after 5:30-6pm as I would normally do.
Hope I get a bit more motivated by joining the forum, nice to meet you all

Hi welcome. The people here are lovely. The point of this is to eat healthily and to avoid all those faddy diets that caused some of our problems to start with. Good luck with starting your journey, you wil get lots of support here. It is quite useful to use the forum to help build your focus.
Welcome to the forum, it's such a brilliant place!
What plan are you doing? Are you following the 12 week NHS one? It's more about changing habits as you say! I think anytime is a good time to start and if you get your head round it before new year then you will be off to a flying start in January. Well done on 3Kg, that's awesome!
Have a wonderful xmas.

Best reason to want to get healthy is to have a baby. 😀 Mind you when I was pregnant I was so sick I weighed less when my very healthy daughter was born than before I was pregnant. There's a good weigh in on Mondays, so the Monday after Christmas with lowcal. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum. I love your bright colourful picture with all those veggies - Congratulations on losing 3kg since you started on 13th December.
The people in this forum are amazing, and very friendly and supportive. We have a Monday weigh-in group if you fancy joining us. I post it just before 7am every Monday, and we'll be there on 28th December, so if you fancy joining us there, please do.
There are lots of people who also do their own weigh-ins, and the great thing is that there's lots of choice to do what works best for you.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and hope to see you around and about in the forum.

Hi Sandra and welcome, there's some brilliant people on this forum, who are always ready to support, help, advise or just have a chat. The pooled experience of this forum is phenomenal and many of us have been able to improve our overall health and happiness beyond expectations. I owe a lot to this forum and I've only been here for a few months or so.
In my experience, the more one participates, the more advice and knowledge one acquires.
I reckon now is the perfect time to start a diet. I think I made better choices earlier in my healthy eating so I imagine you'll have more resolve than most of us!
