Hello and welcome, weightygirl
Not all of them would be as forum members follow a variety of different plans. The important thing is to choose foods that stimulate insulin production as little as possible; also to just eat your meals and avoid eating between meals as each time we eat our bodies produce insulin in response.
This is a good summary of what to eat dietdoctor.com/wp-content/u...
You'll get good advice from diabetes.co.uk
And here's a longer piece - well worth reading when you have the time phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...
We have members who have turned round Type 2 diabetes and I'll check round and tag some for you and maybe they can help and encourage you to make the changes you need.
You will have received a welcome message with a link to our Pinned Posts. Do take time to read them, particularly the Welcome Newbies post which will help you find your way around, and the security/privacy post.
The more you get involved, the more you'll get out of the forum; joining a weekly weigh-in and using the Daily Diary are a great way of getting to know people

Hi. I have only just seen this as I have been at work. You might be interested in reading Michael Mosely books The 8 week blood sugar diet and the Fast 800. There are recipe books that go with them. They have lots of information about lowering blood sugars and reversing diabetes by changing your diet. As BridgeGirl says the dietdoctor website is also great for recipes. You might like to join the LCHF forum. There is lots of knowledgeable people there who can advise on the LCHF way of healthy eating (not a diet!). It is easy when you get started and sustainable. You really can reverse diabetes!
I was prediabetic and have lost weight and now have normal blood sugars and BP. If you have any questions just ask. There are lots people on here who do LCHF and would be glad to help. Good luck.
