So from late teens until now I have to yo-yo’d with weight so much and I thought oh by 30 I will be slim. How wrong was I. However after losing my dad back in June and ate junk to curb emotions I am set to do this by 40. In tier 4 lockdown and almost 32 (may) and seeing as covid is staying longer I probably won’t celebrate this birthday either. So logically because my birthday this year wasn’t exactly celebrated due to not seeing anyone but my o.h am still 30 in my head haha. But biological 31 and 7 month. So kick up ass losing my dad has spurred me in as he used to say about my weight and that he didn’t want me to die young. So after he passed those words have just stuck in my head and played havoc with emotions

Hi feelingfab-by40 and welcome back to this amazing forum.
I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.
Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.
Here’s the link to the pinned posts, healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Here’s the link for the “Tour” of the forum. If you haven’t already taken it.
I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.
You don't mention which,if any,plan you'll be following.
You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.
Good luck I hope to "see " you around.
You've made a great start by coming here, join in, it really helps. I was going to be thin at thirty, fit at forty, fifty and sixty, a month after my 60th birthday I came here and have lost 50kg and think I may make amazing by 63! It's been a learning curve, ditching old habits and changing what I eat, and forgetting some of the old myths. You don't say how much you weigh but the best way is to set mini goals. I wish you every success and look forward to following your progress.
Sorry to hear about your dad and good luck with the restart. I'm sure you'll be able to get out and do what you love soon, even if not for your birthday, I turned 32 during lockdown 2.0 and had a lovely time.
Also, I really hope that you feel fab long before you turn 40!
I've used a LCHF approach for the last eight months I don't calorie count I eat well but I don't eat carbs and now rarely drink alcohol it's worked for me much better than other 'diets' I've tried in the past. I'm hoping to sustain this as the way I will eat. I am slim now but more importantly at 66 I no longer take statins for high cholesterol pills for high blood pressure and more blood sugar level which was high is now normal. I am fit and cycle long distances regularly.Good luck with it
