New to this site but determined to lose weight

Hi I am new to this site. I suffered a stroke 2 years ago, had a hole in my heart repaired and am now in the right frame of mind to get fit and healthy. Now I have started the 12 week NHS plan and hope to lose the excess weight and get fit at the same time. I know I can't run as drag my leg but am desperate to get back on my bike and increase my swimming to be able to swim for an hour like my pre-stroke self. A little worried about counting calories but I am sure I will get my head round it.

You've had a lot to deal with and you sound as though you have a very determined streak so I'm sure you'll be able to make the changes you want and need.

Glad to hear that you've come through a really tough period and that you've reached a point where you feel you can take charge and move forward.

Good luck. You can do it. Loved the 12 week diet and lost on average 1-2 pounds per week. Very healthy with wholemeal carbs, heart healthy fats and plenty of tasty natural foods. God luck with your new healthy food choices.
