Determined to do better this time.

I joined here 3 years ago with the intention of getting fit and eating healthier. Unfortunately that's as far as I got! Now I'm back again and determined to follow a healthier eating plan, combining low fat, low calorie foods with proper exercise. I'm feeling quite positive, so hopefully I'll succeed this time.

Hi and welcome, Jem52 :)

I definitely wouldn't recommend low fat and low calorie foods, have a look at these fatismyfriend.co.uk/ phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

If you haven't already taken it, here's a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

It can be surprising to discover that:

* Low fat foods (often riddled with additives and sugar)

* Low calorie meals (often processed as well as being tasteless and unsatisfying)

* Eating lots of fruit (full of natural sugars)

* Carb staples such as rice, potato, bread and pasta

Can be a one-way ticket to another yo-yo diet, but I've found it to be so.

As moreless suggests, there loads of information here about accessing a genuinely healthy diet:

* Healthy fats that fill you up and reduce hunger and cravings.

* Eating unprocessed healthy meat, fish and tons of healthy vegetables.

Good luck with your plan. Take that positivity and I'm sure you'll make it happen. 😄

I do agree .I remember years ago buying low calorie ready meals and now wouldn't touch them. Low fat anything is very bad and the feeling you get from eating proper food is great ! I don't have processed food at all and I don't think people realise what they are eating half the time and believe it to be good for them

The knowledge gained here is invaluable and it annoys me when people complain about certain parts of it. It has really helped me and will continue to do so x

Hi and welcome. I'm sure you will do very well. Good luck x
