The home run is in sight!

Hey everyone! I came back from my seaside trip Saturday! I enjoyed chips and pizza, ice cream, fudge and sweets. A whole pack of chocolate biscuits! So so bad!

It was weird though because in one shop I was looking for 'naughty snacks' to buy with the idea of having things I don't usually have but I kept seeing - and fancying - my usual things!!

Anyways... My healthy BMI goal is 9st 6lbs. Before my trip I was 9.7 so only 1lb away aghh! Day after my trip...... 10 stone!!!! Yikes! But it's going down fast! That was Sunday. Today 9.10! As my official weigh day is Friday I am confident the damage won't be too great! Yesterday I did a fast day to help things along.

So I am certain I should reach my goal by - or in - September! So so close now!!!

You can do it! 😊 ... I had a ‘relaxed’ weekend food-wise too. Nice when we can do that from time to time knowing we can cope with the results and move on happily!

Weird thing is I always miss my routines and foods now! I enjoy my calorie counted dinners!

So although having treats are nice they are not all consuming over me like they used to be!

Well then that's what I'd call a success. Completely re trained yourself

You have done brilliantly I’m close to you in weight and that my goal is to get to 9st 4lbs. At my lightest I was 9st 10lbs then I started yo yoing. I feel like I’m sabotaging my own efforts as I get closer to goal.

How do you stick to your diet? Please pass on some tips x

I am a sucker for lists and routines! If I feel myself wavering I might sit down and look at my daily routine and tweak it. If there is particular times you get hungry or weak to temptation, schedule a snack there so it is 'allowed'.

My routine is pretty simple on work days. I have breakfast at 8am but save two little party ring biscuits to eat at work (only 24 calories each completed to most biscuits that are around 80 for one).

I have no meals at work and get home at 2pm. I do exercise and have dinner at 4pm with the kids. Do more exercise and then I have a 'snack time' at 7pm where I enjoy my TV time.

My dinners are calorie counted but can be burger, chips and beans or egg, sausage chips and beans or chicken tikka with rice. Lots of very yummy foods which make it easy to stick to! They are between 5-600 calories. Then ice cream for pudding (53 calories one scoop) or some fruit.

Snack time I have crisps - I buy the big share packs but measure out 16-17g which is about 79 calories. I have a Turkish delight (185 calories) and some cheese biscuits (21 calories each), also a curly wurly or mini crunchie bar and then also some toast with peanut butter or cheese and onion. Maybe some more fruit if I have calories left over.

So I have lots of nice food! I only count calories not sugar, fats or carbs. It def helps to 'stick to your diet' when no foods are banned and you love the food you eat!

Its when I am off work I find it hard! Instead of my one meal at 4pm I have two lighter calorie meals. One at 12 noon and one at 4pm. Something like beans on toast and a Jaffa cake and then later a piri piri chicken with noodles and ice cream for dessert.

Wow wow wow! Congratulations! You are an inspiration. Just four pounds! I can’t wait to see you reach it!!! I’m losing about a pound a week... is that what you think you’ll do, or is it slower when you are so close, or do you think some of that holiday weight was water that will come off more quickly?

Although 9.6 puts me on the healthy bmi I ultimately want to get to 9 stone so I have that 6lbs to go up and down in whilst staying in the healthy bmi zone. But I'm not in a rush. I am sure my body size and shape is pretty much going to stay as it is now and those extra pounds off are not going to 'show'.

I was expecting the loss to slow down towards the end... But so far its been pretty much consistent. Will have to wait and see! My routines are a little up and down with the school holidays and extra days off work. I can't wait for my normal routines to resume soon!

Whatever the holiday weight was it wasn't all fat. Sunday j was 10 stone and Monday 9.12. No way could 2lbs just drop so fast! The body is certainly mysterious! Same thing for my daughters birthday in July. I had naughty food, went up in weight over night, but by the end of the week had lost it and an extra 1lb! I think a short term increase in food is OK because the body knows it doesn't need it and sheds it quickly. But if we constantly overload it on calories it has no choice but to start storing it in the fat cells. Which in turn get bigger and then demand more food!

I agree. Gaining weight that fast has to be water/food in the system and it should come off pretty fast. Best wishes for getting to your goal quickly! I can’t wait until I’m that close!
