We have done our trip from Cambridge to Dresden (it would have been Prague) and thoroughly enjoyed a very exciting trip with lots of things going right and things going wrong. Dobbin was definitely not on his best behaviour during this trip but brought us back in one piece (or should I say two riders plus 6 bags and himself :D)
We are thinking about changing our blog "To Prague and back" to be knows as " The Bespoke tour to Dresden and back" We have done three tours so far on Dobbin, 2014 we went from Cambridge to Assissi, and last year we did 5 weeks in France We did take tools along on all these tour, and never ever had to open these bags. Not even to use our pump. Not even a flat tyre..Never! This time, it was a different kettle of fish all together. We had a broken rim, had to have our wheel built over twice (in Holland and then again in Germany) and 14 spokes broken along the way...... Yes you read correctly 14 spokes!!! But even with all the happenings, we still enjoyed our trip and just being together and seeing new things make it worth our while. Our sense of humour luckily stayed in tact.
I had a few mishaps with the weight control before our trip and did not get to the goal before leaving, but I am back in town and now amcleaning out cupboards and making sure that the correct foods are once again available, with all the "wrong foods" being placed out of sight and out of mind I have logged my weight with the Tuesday Trimmers and I am watching the DD with much interest for new ideas and will be joining in as soon as I am organised again.
It still is the forum with the most wonderful encouraging people to be around on this journey, so thank you for all your understanding when the little wobbles come around....

Welcome home both of you and Dobbin. Good luck with getting back on track. Fizzylizz has a new challenge that started last week. It's good to have you home. Well done 🌺🌺
Tks Cockneyblue I really get a kick being back with people who are so encouraging and helpful along the donwards road to health. Have a great week. I do not seem to be able to find the challenge... what is it called?
Ceals tks for the welcoming message..... I know myself, if I do not jump onto this wonderful downwards wagon with you beautiful people, I might go on and take the chocolate road which will be taking me upwards instead of downwards.... :D.
Hi PippiRuns Tks for having be back Our trips were fantastic. The last trip we blogged on bicyclelife.topicwise.com/prague The previous ones was on crazyguyonabike.com/turnleft and crazyguyonabike.com/boxofchocolates. If you read the turnleft tour one (which was our first ever try), you will see that we were very inexperienced, but with a sense of humour we got through it all. Now we really enjoy doing these summer biking trips, eventhough this time round we had lots of things trying to dampen our enjoyment...... we stil LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being together on these trips. Have a great day and week.
Loved reading about you trip, pleased you had a really good time despite the hiccoughs. Good luck on you next journey to healthy eating and I'm with you for this trip if you don't mind.
prawncess , so you know all about our ups and downs I am honoured that you took the time to follow us. The one thing that really got us a little bit nervous was when we were not quick enough to load everything out of the train and left Dobbin standing all alone on the platform in Amersfoort, while we went speeding off in the train towards the next station. As the saying go.. all's well that ends well! We gave the Amersfoort train station personnell their giggle for the day and we got Dobbin back all safe and sound still with all our pasports, phones and money still under his good care. Always something to be thankful for. Have a great week and see you on the forum
pcrw Tks for the compliment. We have been very good friends since we were in High School together (never dated at school) Then we met up and the friendship turned into love and marriage. So we really knew each others shortcomings and good traits by the time we got married (now going for 44 yrs) Luckily I have a very calm and collected hubby who can help me through when waters are not so smooth and when he is getting upset, I know (most of the times :D) which words to use or how to just let him sit in his mancave and sulk for a while I had never ridden a bike before he got me on the tandem in my late fifties, so I just enjoy being out there with him and luckily we share the same sense of humour Have a great week and let's do this downward journey with gusto!!
