Diabetes reversed

So here I am again, trip to the doctor yesterday confirmed a reversal of my diabetes and that the next few months will see a gradual reduction in both my diabetes and blood pressure medication, until (hopefully) I am completely off them.

My weight continues to gradually fall, 100kg now, that's under 16st.......I started at 28st.

All brilliant.......there is a down side though and I never thought it would bother me but it's starting to.......

I look great fully clothed, what's underneath is a mess and there doesn't seem to be a solution.

Anybody out there have any ideas for helping reduce this baggy mess?

Congratulations to you Bubbalicous on losing 12st, from 28 now 16, that is amazing, you ask 'what can be done about the baggy mess under my clothes', apart from your diet you could take up running on the C25K app, it is an excellent training program, not too difficult, many people who have done it and have been on a healthy diet as well, notice quite a difference in their body shape after completing the 9 week program, you can take longer than 9 weeks if you wish regarding the time limit.

Good morning, AlMorr :) Are you wanting to lose weight and join this forum or are you just browsing and offering support? You are very welcome either way and I can see what a great supporter you are, so thanks for that :)

I am of normal weight, graduated from C25K last June and just was browsing around the various Healthunlocked community programs when the Weightloss NHS site seemed to appear, I did answer some people questions then pressed "unfollow" but the questions still appeared but I could not reply because I had pressed 'unfollow' so I pressed 'follow' so that I could reply to questions like the one you asked.

You're a very welcome visitor. You may notice that forum members have a grey badge beside their name and we Admins look out for people who are badgeless to see if they need an introduction. That's how I spotted you.

I've just completed C25k and no-one is more surprised than me. Nowhere near 5k but running for 30+ minutes is a huge achievement :)

Congratulations on completing C25K, I do and so will you have the word GRADUATE (grey badge) next to your username after you completed the course.

I didn't follow the C25k forum so haven't earned a Graduate badge there but I did join a local group and got my certificate this week :) Given that the rest of them were half my age at the most, I was pretty pleased to stick with it

Bubbalicous congratulations on your health and weight loss wins. Maybe a couple of sessions with a personal trainer could help with targeting the areas that bother you the most. They can help you with a workout regime. Don't let things get you down too much you've come so far. 🙂

Well done on your amazing weight loss bubbalicious. It seems such a shame that the price for losing all that weight is baggy skin. I am still in the process of losing weight so I don’t have an answer for you other than what has already been said but I would suggest you to use a skin moisturiser to reduce the stretch marks. Look out for ones recommended to new mums. 😊

Massive congratulations Bubbalicous - terrific weight loss - maybe you could get some training advice to target specific areas to help with that? Your weight loss is incredible. - 😊 - such a huge achievement - life changing 😊 Well done. 💗

Hate to be a downer but you'll have to accept that some of the saggy skin just won't go away - I KNOW as have same problem. Some of it is an age thing - skin loses elasticity, some may be to do with how fast you lost weight.

As suggested above trying to tone up all the muscles helps but probably won't cure!

in reply to cheritorrox

I agree cheritorrox. It’s the one thing that if I could go back and show my younger self what happens when you lose a lot of weight things might have been very different. I probably would have been much more careful about what I was eating.

I know, all the research I've conducted points to the same conclusion, I'm not totally freaked out by it, I knew it was coming, there was always going to be an issue with losing weight equivalent of another adult........

Bought a shirt in Next (first time ever) to cheer myself up.......yay!

in reply to Bubbalicous

You can’t beat treating yourself to a new piece of clothing in a smaller size. It gives you such a boost. 😊

Yeah - I loved getting down to size 14 and now accept that totally flat stomach is never going to be an option! Look good in clothes and trust that anyone who sees u without them a) is a stranger so who cares or b) isn't and therefore they shouldn't care! :)
