One of my motivators to reduce my waist size and lose weight is not to tip into the type 2 Diabetes from being prediabetic. A weight loss buddy is aiming to reverse Diabetes so we cheer each other on.

Congratulations and welcome.
If either of you are on medications for your condition, make sure you work with your doctors to adjust dosages.
What approach are you taking?
I am referring to Diabetes UK website and aiming to reduce my waist size to reduce my type 2 Diabetes risk. Healthy eating cutting down on sugar intake and increasing activity. Double whammy is that recovering from Breast cancer weight loss is a must! I refer to MacMillan information and Breast Care Nurse guidance the consensus is to eat healthily, gradually to increase activity as well. So this is what I am doing.
There is another approach, which has proven very effective for some people
Bear in mind that diabetes and obesity are linked, but one does not cause the other (about 30% of new diabetes cases are of normal BMI). They're symptoms of the same underlying dysfunction.
If you are already prediabetic you will probably not be able to lose weight via the "eat less move more" method, because your body is no longer processing either dietary carbs or stored fats as it ought to. Have a look at diabetes.co.uk; the method they promote works very reliably and is based on (a) actual science and (b) decades worth of clinical experience.
Thanks. I will check this out. Diabetes UK is a good site, isn't it?
I would stick to diabetes.co.uk
The official diabetes.org.uk take on reversal is one of the least inspiring things I have read. Which isn't surprising, it's nearly impossible with their approach.
Well done for taking the first steps ! Would you like to join our weigh in? Here's the link, hope to see you there! x
Still waiting for my bathroom scale to be delivered. So when they arrive I could join the weigh in. I have lost 5cm (2 inches) around my waist.
Well done!
Waist measure it a better indicator than weight. It means your body fat is reduced, it also means that your visceral obesity - the thing that is indicative of T2DM - has been reduced.
But this forum is all about weight loss (the clues in the name) so the scale is helpful, and more sensitive than a tape measure.
I always include my waist when I weigh in.
