Hi all

I am new to this forum. I recently had my third baby and it was my third c-section. I had been very down lately because I have got too much weight too loose. I was wondering if anyone else is struggling to loose weight.

Hi

First of all thanks for the motivation. I am beginning to eat healthy and controlling my calories. I managed to do 20 minuets walk from Monday to Friday by picking my daughter from school. It’s hard for me to do any extra exercise with 6 months old baby. She still waking up at nights for milk. I am not sure that I can lose weight just by healthy eating and doing limited exercise.

I would strongly recommend that you see your GP or health professional regarding cutting calories whilst you have such a young one, especially if you are breast feeding.

Yes I did spoke to my GP and she advised me to eat healthy because I am suffering from High BP after c-section. I am not breastfeeding so I am ok that way. Actually after giving birth to my daughter in April I lost about 4 stone and I still to lose about 3 stone. I am giving myself about six months so I am not cutting too many calories, just watching what I am eating. Thanks for your concern.

Thank you very much for reply. I have got three girls 12, 6 and 6 months old so I am very busy housewife and I am trying hard to lose weight but some days I get so tired that I feel shouldn’t eat at all but I know that’s going to make things worse.

You definitely can lose weight with healthy eating. As long as you take in less calories than you use you will lose weight. You don’t need to worry too much about the exercise bit as exercise can’t outrun a bad diet. Keep going, it will work

That’s good advice and I definitely feel much better now. I am counting my calories intake and trying to eat healthy food.

You are indeed a busy person, most of us are. It really is important to eat well whilst losing weight. No starvation diets, no low fat diet foods. Cook your own food because you know what goes into it and it will be healthier for your girls too. Unfortunately the manufacturers hid lots of nasties in processed foods and they don't do us any good.

Eating healthily, with plenty of good healthy fats (butter not margarine of low fat spread, full fat natural yogurt, avocados and double cream) are all really good for us and keep us fuller for longer.

I always advise that you make food your friend not your enemy, I certainly have.

Enjoy your journey.

You absolutely will be able to lose some weight by eating the right things and without exercise. Very few of us burn of the calories of a Professional athlete. Your diet, and by that I mean ally the food you eat and everything you drink, are so much more important.

Well done for doing the bits of walking that you can do. Any walk with the baby in a sling or a buggy is helpful, but this is not where the main weight loss will come from.

Keep on enjoying your journey to your new lifestyle.

Welcome Zaraatif

It may seem that you have too much to lose and that the task is insurmountable but you've come to the right place, where you'll receive all the support you need.

Rather than think about travelling the whole journey in one go, try thinking of it in terms of small trips with small goals, such as the first couple of lbs etc...

Try posting and replying as often as you can, as this tends to be key to helping us stay focused.

Good luck!

Thank you for best wishes.

I know nothing is going to happen overnight and I need to take things slowly but after my c-section I got diagnosed with High Blood Pressure and I got three young girls to look after. I am always short of time and things doesn’t go the way I plan every day.

Tiggerr profile image

I can't even imagine how much of your time that must take up.

Plans not going to plan... yep, sounds like life :)

There's the Daily Diary here and we plan our menus for the following day. It's a good place to see what others are eating, meet people and it helps to plan and clear your thoughts.

Don't fret about the limited exercise. Exercise does help but the actual formula for losing weight is about 80% food management and 20% exercise.

Great news. Small changes will all add up. There's no rush, just making changes we can handle and keep to.
