Hi, I'm Kim and I'm trying to lose weight with having MS and taking 25 tablets a day and limited exercise. Any in the same boat? Where do I find how many calories I should be having?

MS and weight loss
Hi Kimbell3
Hello 😊
Sorry i hadn't finished my message and it just sent.
I wanted to say welcome to the weight loss forum and i take alot of medication throughout the day for medical issues.
I have been on this weight loss forum for 10 months and in that time i have lost 2 stone. It has taken me a long time but because of limited mobility i don't worry about it too much.
Good luck with your weight loss journey
If you google bmi nhs calculator it will let you know how many calories you should have each day Kimbell3
So I've just realised I'm eating about 200 cals short a day! Wonder if this is why my weight won't budge? 2 stone is amazing! Would love to just lose any weight at the moment!
The more calories we eat the more weight we should lose. I am terrible for that though as i cannot eat what i should be, this is the case for me aswell why i am not losing it as quick and also mobility issues. Thankyou and you can do it aswell by staying with this forum. You will receive lots of help and encouragement here
Just getting to grips with site at the moment
Hi and welcome, Kim
We have members with many different health issues and I'm sure some of them will respond to your post
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run a weigh-in every day of the week and you'd be very welcome to join one of them. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the HOME page, bottom on a mobile.
We also run a Daily Diary, where we share our meal and exercise plans for the day. It's a great place to get ideas and to keep us focused. The link can also be found in Events.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Hi Kimbell3 I watched this YouTube video a couple of days ago. You might find it interesting. m.youtube.com/watch?feature...
This lady, a Dr appears to have reversed her MS through a Paleo diet.
I am afraid I haven't read any of her research but it was a very interesting and thought provoking video.
Keep coming on the forum, the support here is so good.
Take care
Hello,
I have limited mobility due to M.E/Fibromyalgia and I find that the ratio of what you eat to excercize is about 80/20.
I have also found that the smallest lifestyle changes have led to the biggest reduction in my waistline (I have vastly cut down on my biggest vices- chocolate and fizzy drinks.)
I get scared to eat so many calories but I'm supposed to eat 1400.
A lot of members on here use myfitnesspal to track their calories.
If you're worried about sticking to a calorie limit, keep track of a typical day using the app and then assess where you can improve your choices.
You'd be surprised how many foods are high in calories, fat and sugar.
