Hello all, thank you for you messages.. I have started to look through all the wonderful info and advice on here... I've printed off the NHS 12 week and now I'm looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights.. a little overwhelmed, and not really sure where to start... please can anyone offer me the basics please? Thanks

Take your time to have a really good look around, especially at the links Rose suggested yesterday. Nothing beats finding your way around yourself 😊

Might I suggest the Daily Diary as a perfect aid to gaining knowledge and advice about food plans.

Please note the HU App doesn't have all the features so I suggest you stick to the full website version 😊

Thanks Anna, I think I was having a moment! I have now moved to the desktop as my phone doesn't seem to make it as clear as the desktop does... Deep breath and I'm going to spend time today on here. Have a lovely day πŸ˜ƒ

Wise move!! I use my phone when I'm out and about but for getting to know the forum nothing beats a proper screen!

Hi WillDoIt17 my advice if your going to try the calorie route is check your personal range using

nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw...

Don't cheat - stick to the range given and you will enjoy all the foods you eat now within your calorie allowance and enjoy your healthier lifestyle with less weight, and better health.

Many use the app "my fitness pal" to count the calories for us, but ignore their advice on how many calories to eat to reach your goals.. they are very low and leave you hungry and you won't necessarily loose weight if you don't eat enough!!

If you go into my fitness pal, click on 3 little stripes on top left hand corner, go into goals you can change your calories etc to your needs xx

Thanks Hidden I wish I saw your post earlier today as I set my sister up with the app on her phone and checked her BMI but it took me ages to work out how to change her daily range.. Thanks for that. πŸ˜‰

There are so many options.. I'd done it on mine...

We were sitting in Prezzo waiting for our starters... it was quite amusing, all because I asked if they had calories for their menu!!

I can just imagine the response you got for asking 😱 I asked once in a local cafe, do you have the calories for this and was told they don't do that it's probably not in season (by a young Saturday lad) I nearly cried laughingπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ xx
