I'm a wheelchair user and have an upper limb defect too so I can't do anything physical to help with weight loss, plus have underactive thyroid & GERDS acid reflux too, I'm yoyoing all the time with my weight and I feel I'm eating healthier than most, I have homemade soup for dinner with a choice of fish type protein, I do cheat occasionally with carbs like potato but who wouldn't with my state. Cereal & coffee for breakfast and a fruit purée lunch, nothing works for long it's like a seesaw my weight, I'm 133kg I went down to 105kg 4 yrs ago from 140kg and gradually its come back up and I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Hi and welcome, BurningBridges
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey

Hi BurningBridges,
I love the pic.
You certainly haven't got an easy time of it with restricted exercise and under-active thyroid too. I saw a chink of sunshine in your post though; you say that you lost quite a bit of weight not too long ago and so I wonder what you did to achieve that? You must have been very strong and determined to manage that; those of us who can exercise find it hard enough to lose weight so I take my hat off to you! I found the NHS BMI calculator really helped me with a suggested calorie range, but I had to weigh food because I was way off with guessing portion sizes and still have to check occasionally if I'm becoming a bit too generous with my portions again.
If your circumstances were similar to last time you tried, could you work the same magic by doing the same things again this time? I couldn't possibly give you advice on what to do because it sounds as if you have it covered really but sometimes I think it's partially a matter of making a start, and when you're feeling low then that becomes more difficult to do. Also, I think it helps to stop the yo-yo effect if the changes you make are sustainable in the long term so you don't start to pile the weight back on again as soon as you stop.
Spring is in the air and a bit of sunshine certainly brightens my mood so I hope that you will lose that sick and tired feeling very soon x
Do you eat the same things for most meals and what type of cereals do you eat at breakfast?
