Hi all, I'm very new to this and hoping that this will work for me. This is the first time I've joined a proper community for weight loss so I'm a little nervous about what to expect. I had considered Slimming World/Weight Watchers in the past but have found them to be quite pricey plus I am daunted by the idea of joining - i'm sure everyone is in the same boat there, however! Looking for help and advice with meal plans etc and just general motivation to keep me going; I'm determined to lose 12kg in 3 months to get back to a healthier weight and regain my confidence. I would like to set myself weekly targets and share this with others to keep me motivated (and answerable in some ways to stop on the snacking!)

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread.
Look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.
Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you follow Zest and myself, you'll be notified when we post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page and remains open until 6pm on Fridays.
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration.

I joined this forum 4 weeks ago over slimming world/ww - partly money and partly wanting something different. I've found it to be amazing - really supportive and friendly, and engaging on a daily basis which helps to remind me what I'm trying to do! Good luck with your journey.
Welcome to this amazing support group, I have just finished the 12wk programme I am 60 yrs and have lost 2st 2lbs. I have never done slimming groups but have always struggled with food and weight issues. Writing everything I ate without cutting down and then recording daily what I had eaten and what exercise e.g. Walking or cycling I did helped me. But look no further than the day ahead and you will be amazed at how quick the wk goes by. Come to the site when you have a blip or a question Some one will always be there to help you !
That's amazing, Ganny - very motivational hearing about your success and really helpful to hear that you tackle each day at a time. I think that is what I will do, one step at a time. In the past, I feel that I've looked too far ahead and it's been overwhelmingly daunting and support definitely makes all the difference! We're all here together on a journey to meet our goals. I'm feeling very welcome and comfortable already; everyone is really helpful and kind.
